Locoid Scalp Lotion:
superficial skin diseases in which itching, redness
or scaling are often present. Locoid lotion is
especially suitable for the treatment of the hairy
scalp.
What you should know before using Locoid lotion
When should you not use Locoid lotion?
Locoid lotion should not be used for:
- Skin disorders caused by bacterial, viral, fungal,
yeast or parasitic infections. These disorders
might aggravate or be masked.
- Acne, also with redness of the skin.
- Wounds, fi sh skin (ichthyosis).
- Skin disorders which might result from previous
treatment with corticosteroids, such as
infl ammation of the skin around the mouth, thin
skin, possibly with stripes, fragile blood vessels.
If you are hypersensitive to hydrocortisone butyrate
or one of the other ingredients of Locoid lotion
(which rarely occurs) you may not use Locoid lotion
either.
How should Locoid lotion be used?
Locoid lotion should be applied in a thin layer on the
diseased skin.
After application you may carefully massage Locoid
lotion into the skin.
Do not apply more than 1 to 3 times daily on the
diseased skin, unless your doctor prescribes
otherwise.
If your complaints decrease your doctor may advise
you to use Locoid lotion less often.
In general you should not use more than 1-2 bottles
of 30 ml Locoid lotion per week.
Have you missed a dose of Locoid lotion?
If you forget once to apply Locoid lotion, you
may continue with Locoid lotion as usual. It is not
necessary to apply an extra amount of lotion.
Side effects
You may occasionally suff er from a burning
sensation or irritation of the skin treated with Locoid
lotion. This is mostly not serious and disappears of
its own.
If you use corticosteroids continuously for a long
time rash or pimples may trouble you. The skin may
also discolour or become thinner and sometimes
have stripes. If you have these side eff ects, you
should warn your doctor. If other side eff ects should
occur, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.
How should Locoid lotion be stored?
Locoid lotion should not be used after the expiry
date mentioned on the pack.
Store Locoid lotion in the refrigerator between 2 and
8°C in the pack in which it was supplied to you by
the pharmacist.
Keep out of the reach of children!
Composition
Locoid lotion contains as active ingredient 1 mg
hydrocortisone 17-butyrate per gram.
The other ingredients are: isopropanol, glycerol,
povidone, citric acid, sodium citrate and purifi ed
water.

لوكويد لوشن فروة الرأس 0,1%
يمكن أن يستعمل لوشن لوكويد في علاج أمراض البشرة السطحية والتي تصاحب بحكة أو احمرار أو تقشر الجلد.
ويعتبر لوشن لوكويد مناسب خصيصاً لعلاج فروة الشعر.
ما يجب عليك معرفته قبل استعمال لوشن لوكويد
متى يجب عدم استعمال لوشن لوكويد؟
يجب عدم استخدام لوشن لوكويد في:
- أمراض البشرة الناتجة عن الالتهابات البكتيرية أو الحموية أو الفطرية أو التخمرية أو الطفيلية. ويمكن أن تتفاقم هذه الأمراض أو تأخذ شكلاً مقنعاً.
- حب الشباب، أيضاً مع احمرار البشرة.
- الجروح والبشرة السميكة (حرشفة الجلد).
- أمراض الجلد الناتجة عن العلاج السابق بستيرويديات القشرية مثل التهاب الجلد حول الفم والبشرة الرقيقة التي قد تأتي على شكل ثلم وهشاشة الأوعية الدموية.
وإذا كانت لديك حساسية من بوتيريت الهايدروكورتيسون أو إحدى المكونات الأخرى للوشن لوكويد (التي نادراً ما تحدث)، فيجب ألا تستعمل لوشن لوكويد.
ما هي محاذير استعمال لوشن لوكويد
يجب عدم استعمال لوشن لوكويد داخل العين أو على الجفون.
عادة ما تكون بشرة الوجه وثنيات البشرة حساسة لستيرويديات القشرية ويجب أن تعالج بحذر.
وإذا ظهرت الأعراض مرة أخرى بسرعة عقب علاج طويل بلوشن لوكويد، فيجب استشارة طبيبك.
الفحص من قبل الطبيب ضروري إذا استعمل لوشن لوكويد على مناطق واسعة من البشرة أو استعمل للأطفال. يجب تجنب استعمال ستيرويديات القشرية لمدة طويلة على مناطق واسعة في الأطفال.
التفاعلات:
قد يؤدي الجمع بين مكونات العقاقير المختلفة إلى نتائج عكسية. فضلاً تأكد من أن طبيبك على معرفة تامة بأية أدوية أخرى تتناولها.
الاستعمال أثناء الحمل والرضاعة الطبيعية:
إذا كنت تريدين أن تستعملي لوشن لوكويد أثناء الحمل وإذا كنت ترضعين طفلك رضاعة طبيعية، فضلاً استشيري طبيبك أولاً.
الآثار على المقدرة على قيادة السيارات أو تشغيل المكائن
لا توجد أية بيانات على تأثير لوشن لوكويد على القدرة على القيادة أو تشغيل المكائن ولكن ليس من المتوقع أن يكون للوشن لوكويد أي تأثير.
كيف تستعمل لوشن لوكويد
يجب استعمال طبقة خفيفة من لوشن لوكويد على المنطقة المصابة من البشرة.
عقب الاستعمال يمكن تدليك لوشن لوكويد بعناية على البشرة. لا تستعمله أكثر من مرة واحدة إلى 3 مرات يومياً على البشرة المصابة ما لم يوصف طبيبك بخلاف ذلك.
وإذا خفت الآلام، فقد ينصحك طبيبك باستعمال لوشن لوكويد على مرات أقل من السابق.
بوجه عام، يجب ألا تستعمل أكثر من 1 إلى 2 زجاجة بحجم 30 مل من لوشن لوكويد أسبوعياً.
هل تخلفت عن استعمال إحدى جرعات لوشن لوكويد؟
إذا نسيت أحد المرات أن تستعمل لوشن لوكويد، يمكن الاستمرار مع لوشن لوكويد كالعادة، فليس من الضرورة استعمال كمية إضافية من اللوشن لتعويض الجرعة المنسية.
الآثار الجانبية:
قد تعاني أحياناً من حساسية محرقة أو تهيجات في مناطق البشرة المعالجة بلوشن لوكويد. وغالباً ما تكون غير خطرة وتختفي من تلقاء نفسها. إذا استعملت ستيرويديات قشرية بصورة مستمرة لمدة طويلة فقد تحدث لك حكة أو تظهر بثرات صغيرة أو تقيحات، مما قد يسبب لك الازعاج. يمكن أن يتغير لون البشرة أو تصبح أرق وأحياناً تظهر عليها ثلمات. إذا ظهرت هذه التأثيرات الجانبية، يجب إشعار طبيبك. وإذا حدثت أعراض جانبية أخرى، فضلاً اتصل بطبيك أو بالصيدلي المختص.
كيفية حفظ لوشن لوكويد
يجب عدم استعمال لوشن لوكويد بعد تاريخ الانتهاء المذكور على العبوة. احفظ لوشن لوكويد في البراد (الثلاجة) في درجة حرارة ما بين 2- 8 درجة مئوية في العبوة التي صرفها الصيدلي لك. يُحفظ بعيداً عن متناول الأطفال.
المكونات
يحتوي لوشن لوكويد كمكون نشط على 1مج.
هيدروكورتزون 17- بوتيريت لكل جرام.
المكونات الأخرى:- إيزوبروبانول.
وجليسرول وبوفيدون وحامض الستريك وسيتريت الصوديوم وماء نقية.
ما هو شكل لوشن لوكويد وما هو شكل عبوته؟
لوشن لوكويد سائل بدون لون واضح معبئة في زجاجات 30 مل. وقد تم تعبئة الزجاجة في علبة صفراء/ رمادية/ بيضاء مطبوع عليه لوشن لوكويد 0.1%.

Dermatitis, in particular allergic and toxic eczema and psoriasis.
Adults: Apply a thin layer once or twice daily.
Wash hands after applying unless it is the hands that are being treated.
Children: See section 4.4.
Avoid long-term application to the face, large areas of skin, intertriginous areas of skin and other areas of thin skin due to the risk of skin atrophy and increased absorption.
In general treatment should not exceed 4-6 weeks unless the patient is checked regularly by a doctor.
Abrupt discontinuation after long-term use may result in a renewed outbreak/worsening of the skin condition, known as the rebound effect.
Corticosteroids may mask, trigger and exacerbate skin infections. If the infection worsens despite treatment, Locoid must be discontinued.
Exercise care when applying to the eyelids and area around the eyes. Avoid getting cutaneous solution in the eyes as there is a risk of glaucoma developing.
Application under occlusion should be limited.
Children
Avoid long-term treatment in children. Children may be more sensitive to adrenal suppression than adults because their skin covers a greater surface area compared with body weight.
No known interactions.
Pregnancy:
Studies in animals have shown reproductive toxicity. The potential risk to humans is not known. Locoid should not be used on large areas of skin or for longer periods in pregnant women.
Breast-feeding:
Locoid may be used during breast-feeding. It is not known if topically absorbed hydrocortisone butyrate is excreted in breast milk, but the risk of effects on the infant is considered unlikely.
No labelling. Locoid does not affect or has an insignificant effect on, the ability to drive and use machines.
There is an increased risk of systemic and local adverse reactions in treatment of intertriginous areas, large areas of skin or under occlusion, as well as in frequent dosing or treatment over a long period of time.

There are no reports of overdose. Intensive use under occlusion may result in adrenal suppression.
Treatment: Symptomatic.
Locoid has an anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictive effect and suppresses inflammatory reactions.
Following application of Locoid, hydrocortisone-17-butyrate remains as a deposit in the epidermis, primarily in the stratum corneum. Depth of penetration increases in case of occlusion. Systemic effects have not been observed in treatment at recommended doses.
Hydrocortisone-17-butyrate is a moderately potent glucocorticoid, stronger than hydrocortisone and with a safety margin that is thought to be broader than in the case of fluoro-substituted steroids.
