Seclodyn™ 1 % contains a mydriatic agent. It is used to enlarge the pupil of the eye
and to paralyse the lens temporarily.
Your doctor or eye specialist may use it to examine your eye more closely.
These eye drops are also used to treat some types of inflammation of the eye.
This medicine is not indicated for babies under 28 days old.
However, your doctor or eye specialist can use it if he/she decides that it is
necessary.
Do not use these drops
• if you are allergic to the active substance (cyclopentolate hydrochloride) or any of
the other ingredients (refer to the end of this leaflet).
• if you have high pressure of liquid inside the eye (closed angle glaucoma)
• in babies under 28 days old (unless your doctor decides that it is necessary).
Take special care
Ask yourself the following questions:
• Are your eyes red or inflamed?
• Is it to be used in very young children (under 3 months old)?
• Are you very ill?
• Are you elderly?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, tell your doctor or eye specialist.
If you are pregnant, may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding
Tell your doctor or eye specialist, he/she may decide to use these drops or to
prescribe you an alternative.
Contact lenses
Your doctor will ask you to remove your contact lenses prior to the administration
of the drops. There is no information on the effect of this product on contact lenses.
Therefore, do not wear your contact lenses until the effects of the drops have
completely worn off.
Driving and using machines
As with all eye drops, your vision may be blurred after putting the drops in. Wait
until your vision is clear before driving or using machines.
The drops are for single use only and provided in single use Minims units, to treat
both eyes if necessary. Once opened, use immediately. Discard any unused portion.
Dosage
• The normal adult dose is 1 or 2 drops of solution in each eye, as required. The
administration of the drops can be repeated every 6-8 hours, depending on the
treatment.
• The normal child dose (over 3 months old) is 1 drop of Seclodyn™ 1 % 0.5% w/v
in each eye. Children should be observed for 45 minutes after the administration of
the drops.
Method of administration
The doctor or eye specialist will normally put the drops in your eye for you, but if
you are putting the eye drops in yourself, then follow these instructions carefully:
1. Wash your hands.
2. Use a mirror, this will help you to see what you are doing.
3. Carefully dry your eyes using a tissue, and twist off the cap from the Minims
body of the unit.
4. Pull your lower eyelid down gently, and then carefully place 1 or 2 drops inside
your lower eyelid.
5. Close your eye and blink a few times to make sure your eye is covered by the
liquid.
6. Close the eyelids. It is advisable to press gently on the inner corner of your eyelid
for 3 minutes. This will help stop the solution draining into your nose and throat.
This is especially advisable in children, the elderly and population at risk.
7. Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 for the other eye if necessary, then throw away the
Minims unit, even if some solution remains.
If you use more Seclodyn™ 1 % than you should, an overdose is very unlikely to
occur. If you suddenly feel unwell after receiving the drops, tell your doctor or eye
specialist or contact your nearest emergency department immediately.
The following side effects may occur:
• temporary irritation following the administration of the drops in your eyes.
• increase of the pressure of liquid inside your eyes.
• allergic reaction (including red eyes, watering of the eyes) has been rarely
reported.
The following side effects may occur when using an unusual dosage, especially in
children:
• temporary effect on your balance
• temporary effects on your vision and sense of touch • confusion • fever
• flushing of the face • hallucinations • skin rash • drowsiness
• unusual behaviour • tachycardia
If any of the side effects gets serious, please seek immediate medical attention. If
you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or
pharmacist.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Do not use the eye drops after the expiry date which is stated on the overwrap of
each unit and on the carton after the letters “EXP”.
Do not use more than 30 days after opening the Alu-Alu pouch.
Do not store above 30 ºC.
Do not freeze. Store in original package in order to protect from light.
The drops are for single use only and provided in single use Minims units, to treat
both eyes if necessary. Once opened, use immediately. Discard any unused
portion.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your
pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will
help to protect the environment.
The active ingredient is: Cyclopentolate HCl 1% (10mg/ml)
The other ingredients are: Hydrochloric acid and or Sodium hydroxide (for pH
adjustment) and water for injection.

تحتوي سيكلودين على دواء مُوسِّع لحدقة العين. وهو يُستخدم لتوسيع حدقة العين وتخدير العدسة مؤقتًا.
قد يستخدم الطبيب المعالج لك أو أخصائي العيون الخاص بك قطرة العين لفحص عينيك بدقة أكبر. كمات ستخدم قطرة العين هذه في علاج بعض أنواع التهابات العين. لا يُنصَح باستعمال هذا الدواء في الأطفال الذين يقل عمرهم عن ۲۸ يومًا.
ومع ذلك، قد يستخدمه الطبيب المعالج لك أو أخصائي العيون الخاص بك إذا رأى ضرورة ذلك.
لا تستخدم هذه القطرة في الحالات التالية:
- إذا كنت تُعاني من حساسية مفرطة تجاه المادة الفعالة (هيدروكلوريد سيكلوبنتولات) أو أيِّ مكون من
المكونات الأخرى الداخلة في تركيب هذا الدواء (ارجع إلى الجزء الموجود بنهاية النشرة).
- إذا كنت تُعاني من ارتفاع ضغط السوائل داخل العين (زَّرَق مُنغَلق الزاوية).
- بالنسبة للأطفال الذين يقل عمرهم عن ۲۸ يومًا (ما لم يقرر الطبيب أنها ضرورية).
توخ حذرًا خاصًّا
اسأل نفسك الأسئلة التالية:
- هل عينيك حمراء اللون أو ملتهبة؟
- هل يُسمح باستخدامه للأطفال الصغار جدًّا (الذين يقل عمرهم عن ثلاثة أشهر)؟
- هل تعاني من مرض شديد؟
- هل أنت من كبار السن؟
إذا كانت الإجابة على أي من هذه الاسئلة ب "نعم"، فيجب عليك إبلاغ الطبيب المعالج لك أو أخصائي العيون
الخاص بك.
إذا كنتِ حاملًا أو تخططين لذلك أو إذا كنتِ مُرضعًا.
أخبري الطبيب المعالج لكِ أو أخصائي العيون الخاص بكِ، فقد يقرر استخدام هذه القطرة أو يصف لكِ بديلًا
لها.
العدسات اللاصقة
سوف يطلب منك الطبيب المعالج لك إزالة العدسات اللاصقة قبل وضع القطرة. لا تتوفر معلومات حول تأثير
هذا المنتج على العدسات اللاصقة. لذلك، لا ترتدي عدساتك اللاصقة حتى تزول آثار القطرة تمامًا.
القيادة واستخدام الآلات
كما هو الحال مع كافة قطرات العين، فقد يؤدي وضع القطرة إلى عدم وضوح الرؤية. انتظر حتى يتضح
مجال رؤيتك قبل القيادة أو استخدام الآلات.
كيفية استخدام سيكلودين
إن القطرة مخصصة للاستعمال مرة واحدة فقط، وهي متوفرة في قطَّارات تستعمل مرة واحدة لعلاج كلتا
العينين إذا لزم الأمر. استخدمها بمجرد فتحها. تخلص من أي بقايا غير مُستخدَمة.
الجرعة
- جرعة البالغين المعتادة هي قطرة واحدة أو قطرتان من المحلول في كل عين حسب الحاجة. ويمكن تكرار
۸ ساعات، بناءً على طبيعة العلاج. - استخدام القطرة كل ٦
- جرعة الطفل المعتادة (الذي يزيد عمرهم عن ۳ أشهر) هي قطرة واحدة من سيكلودين
۰٫٥ ٪ وزن/حجم في كل عين. يجب متابعة الأطفال لمدة ٤٥ دقيقة بعد وضع القطرة.
طريقة الاستعمال
عادة ما يتولى الطبيب المعالج لك أو أخصائي العيون الخاص وضع القطرة في عينك،
ولكن إذا كنت ستضع القطرة بنفسك، فاتبع هذه التعليمات بعناية:
۱) اغسل يديك.
۲) استخدم مرآة، فسوف تساعدك على رؤية ما تفعله.
۳) جفف عينيك بعناية باستخدام مناديل، ثم انزع غطاء القطَّارة عن طريق لفها من على جسم القطَّارة.
٤) اسحب الجفن السفلي إلى الأسفل بلطف، ثم ضع بعناية قطرة أو قطرتان داخل الجفن السفلي.
٥) أغلق عينيك ثم أرمش عدة مرات للتأكد من تغطية العين بالسائل.
٦) أغلق الجفون. يُنصح بأن تضغط بلطف على الزاوية الداخلية من الجفن لمدة ۳ دقائق. حيث سيساعد ذلك
على إيقاف المحلول الذي يسيل تدريجياً في الأنف والحنجرة. ويُنصح بذلك بصفة خاصة في الأطفال وكبار
السن والمرضى المعرضين للخطر.
۷) كرر الخطوات ٤ و ٥ و ٦ في العين الأخرى، ثم تخلص من القطَّارة، حتى إذا تبقى بها بعض المحلول.
۱ ٪ ، من المستبعد جدًّا تلقي جرعة زائدة. إذا شعرت ™ إذا استخدمت كمية أكثر مما يجب من سيكلودين
فجأة بالتوعك بعد وضع القطرة في العين، أخبر الطبيب المعالج لك أو أخصائي العيون الخاص بك أو اتصل
بأقرب قسم طوارئ على الفور.
قد تحدث الآثار الجانبية التالية:
- تهيج مؤقت بعد وضع القطرات في العين.
- ارتفاع ضغط السوائل داخل العين.
- نادرًا ما وردت تقارير تفيد بالإصابة بتفاعل حساسية (يشمل احمرار العينين وسيلان الدموع).
- قد تحدث الآثار الجانبية التالية عند استخدام جرعة غير معتادة، خاصة في الأطفال:
- تأثير مؤقت على توازن الجسم.
- تأثير مؤقت على الرؤية وحاسة اللمس.
- ارتباك.
- حمى.
- احمرار الوجه وسخونته.
- هلوسة.
- طفح جلدي.
- نعاس.
- سلوك غير معتاد.
- تسرع ضربات القلب.
إذا أصبحت أيٍ من الآثار الجانبية خطيرة، يُرجي الحصول على رعاية طبية على الفور. إذا لاحظت أية آثار
جانبية غير المُدرَجة في هذه النَّشرة، فيُرجى إبلاغ الطبيب المعالج لك أو الصيدلي الخاص بك.
يُحفظ بعيدًا عن مُتناوَل و مرأى الأطفال.
يُحفظ في درجة حرارة لا تزيد عن ۳۰ درجة مئوية.
لايجميد. يُحفظ داخل العبوة الأصلية للحماية من الضوء.
لا تستعمل قطرة العين بعد انتهاء تاريخ الصلاحية المدون على غلاف كل وحدة وعلى العبوة الكرتونية
"EXP" الخارجية بعد كلمة
لا تستخدم أكثر من ۳۰ يوما بعد فتح الغلاف الألومنيوم.
إن القطرة مخصصة للاستعمال مرة واحدة فقط، وهي متوفرة في قطَّارات تستعمل مرة واحدة لعلاج كلتا
العينين إذا لزم الأمر. استخدمها بمجرد فتحها. تخلص من أي بقايا غير مُستخدَمة.
يجب عدم التَّخلص من الأدوية عن طريق مياه الصرف أو مع المخلفات المنزلية. استشر الصيدلي الخاص بك
عن كيفية التَّخلص من الأدوية التي لم تعد بحاجة إليها. تُساعد هذه التدابير على حماية البيئة.
المادة الفعالة هي: هيدروكلوريد سيكلوبنتولات ۱٫۰% ملغ/مل
المكونات الأخرى هي: حمض الهيدروكلوريك و/أو هيدروكسيد الصوديوم (لضبط درجة الحموضة) وماء
للحقن.
سيكلودين قطرة للعين جرعات مفردة عبارة عن محلول عديم اللون صافٍ ومعقم.
تتوفر سيكلودين قطرة للعين جرعات مفردة في عبوة بها ۲۰ جرعة أحادية الإستخدام، من البولي ايثيلين منخفض الكثافة، محكمة الغلق، خالية من المواد الحافظة، الجرعات مرتبة في ٤ أغلفة معدنية كل منها
يحتوي علي ٥ جرعات أحادية الإستخدام.
كل جرعة أحادية بداخلها ۰,٥ مل من قطرة العين.
As a topical mydriatic and cycloplegic.
Adults (including the elderly):
Instil dropwise into eye according to the recommended dosage.
One or two drops as required. Maximum effect is induced in 30 - 60 minutes after instillation.
For refraction and examination of the back of the eye: 1 drop of solution, which may be repeated after
five minutes, is usually sufficient.
For anterior and posterior uveitis (if associated with signs of anterior uveitis) and for the breakdown of
posterior synechiae: 1 - 2 drops are instilled every 6 - 8 hours.
Resistance to cycloplegia can occur in young children, in patients with dark skin and/or patients with
dark irides, therefore, the strength of cyclopentolate used should be adjusted accordingly.
Children
< 3 months: Not recommended
3 months - 12 years: 1 drop of a 1% solution to each eye.
12 years - adult: 1 drop of 0.5% solution to each eye repeated after 10 minutes if necessary.
Children should be observed for 45 minutes after instillation.
Recovery of accommodation occurs within 24 hours.
Use with caution in very young children and other patients at special risk, such as debilitated or aged
patients.
Caution is also advised in hyperaemia as increased systemic absorption may occur.
Systemic absorption may be reduced by compressing the lacrimal sac at the medial canthus for a
minute during and following the instillation of the drops. (This blocks the passage of the drops via the
naso lacrimal duct to the wide absorptive area of the nasal and pharyngeal mucosa. It is especially
advisable in children.)
None known.
Pregnancy Category C
The safety for use in pregnancy and lactation has not been established, therefore, use only when
considered essential by the physician.
May cause transient blurring of vision on instillation. Warn patients not to drive or operate hazardous
machinery until vision is clear.
Local Effects
Local irritation may result following the use of this product. The frequency of this effect occurring is
dependant on the concentration instilled.
Increased intraocular pressure may occur in predisposed patients.
Allergic reactions may rarely occur, manifesting as diffusely red eyes with lacrimation and stringy
white mucus discharge.
Systemic Effects
Systemic cyclopentolate toxicity is dose-related and is uncommon following administration of 1%
solution and would not be expected to occur following instillation of 0.5% solution. Children are,
however, more susceptible to such reactions than adults. Toxicity is usually transient and is manifest
mainly by CNS disturbances. Any CNS disturbances are characterised by signs and symptoms of
cerebellar dysfunction and visual and tactile hallucinations.
Peripheral effects typical of anti-cholinergics, such as flushing or dryness of the skin and mucous
membranes, have not been observed with topical cyclopentolate in children or adults. Temperature,
pulse and blood pressure are not normally affected.

Overdose is rare but symptoms can include those mentioned in Section 4.8 above. Treatment is
supportive.
Cyclopentolate hydrochloride is a synthetic tertiary amine, antimuscarinic compound with actions
similar to atropine.
ATC Code: S01FA04
As a group, the synthetic tertiary amine antimuscarinic compounds are well absorbed following oral
administration. Cyclopentolate may be absorbed systemically either by transcorneal absorption, direct
topical absorption through the skin or by absorption from the nasal or naso lacrimal system.
There are no preclinical data of relevance to the prescriber which are additional to that already
included in other sections of the SPC.
