The active ingredient sodium chloride belongs to a group of medicines known as eye lubricants
(ocular lubricants).
Apisal Eye/Nose Drops are used to wash out your eye and your nose if you have something
trapped in it.

Do not use Apisal Eye/Nose Drops if:
• You are allergic (hypersensitive) to Sodium Chloride or to any of the other ingredients, which
are listed in section 6 of this leaflet.
Take special care with Apisal Eye/Nose Drops if:
• You wear soft contact lenses. These should be removed before your treatment with Apisal
Eye/Nose Drops.
If you are unsure about taking this medicine or you have any questions, go and talk to your
doctor first and follow the advice given.

Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or nurse if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines,
including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant, trying for a baby or breast-feeding you should ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before you take Apisal Eye/Nose Drops.
Driving and using machines
Apisal Eye/Nose Drops can cause temporary blurring of vision after application in the eye.
Wait until your vision is clear before driving or using machines.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Apisal Eye/Nose Drops
This medicine contains benzalkonium chloride which may cause eye irritation and is known to
discolour soft contact lenses.
Remove contact lenses before you use Apisal Eye/Nose Drops and wait at least 15 minutes
before you put them back in.

Always use Apisal Eye/Nose Drops exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check
with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Soft contact lenses must not be worn during treatment with Apisal Eye/Nose Drops.
Instructions for use for the eye:
1. Twist the outer cap to break the seal.
2. Wash your hands well before use.
3. Remove the outer cap. If you are putting in the drops yourself, you should use a mirror.
4. Tilt your head back and look up at the ceiling.
5. Pull the lower lid of the eye out to form a small pocket between your eyelid and your eye.
6. Hold the bottle between the thumb and middle finger of the other hand, turn the bottle
upside down near to the eye. Try not to touch the eye with the nozzle.
7. Apply enough pressure to the container to release one to two drops, as directed by your
doctor.
8. Blink your eye a few times.
9. If you think that you have missed the eye, then insert another drop.
10. Repeat steps 4 - 9 for the other eye if you have been told to use Apisal Eye/Nose Drops in
both eyes.

11. Replace the outer cap on the container, trying not to touch the applicator tip with anything,
including the eye or your fingers.
12. Wash your hands.
Instructions for use for the nose:
1- Above the basin or in the shower, tilt your head to one side and gently insert the bottle tip
into the upper nostril. Press the bottle once firmly during 2 to 3 seconds.
2- Repeat with the other nostril, the head turned to the other side.
3- Blow nose.
4- Rinse the bottle tip with warm water after each use and dry properly.

How much to use
- As eye drops: The usual dose is 1 or 2 drops placed in each eye when needed, or as directed
by your doctor or pharmacist.
- As nasal drops: For infants and adults 2 to 6 drops in each nostril as needed or as directed by
physician.
If there is no improvement see your doctor or pharmacist.
Apisal Eye/Nose Drops are for external use only.
If you use more Apisal Eye/Nose Drops than you should
It will not cause you any harm. If you are worried then talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Apisal Eye/Nose Drops are for external use only. If you have swallowed or you suspect
someone else has swallowed any of this medicine, contact your doctor.

No side effects are expected with this product but if blurred vision becomes a problem for you,
tell your pharmacist or doctor.

- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
- Make sure the container is properly closed after each use.
- Do not store above 30°C.
- Do not use Apisal Eye/Nose Drops after the expiry date which is printed on the bottle label.
Discard the bottle four weeks after opening.
- Medicines should not be disposed of via waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist
how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the
environment.
