TETRACYCLINE ointment is used to help prevent skin infection in minor cuts, scrapes and burns.
This medicine is suitable for most adults and children but a few people should not use it. If you are in any doubt, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not use this medicine
§ If you are allergic to tetracycline or any of the other ingredients of TETRACYCLINE (listed in section 6)
If this applies to you, get advice from a doctor or pharmacist without using TETRACYCLINE.
Special warnings about this medicine
§ Keep away from eyes, nose & other mucous membranes
§ Do not use on deep or puncture wounds or serious burn sunless directed by the doctor.
§ Prolonged use of an anti-infective agent may result in the development of infection due to microorganisms resistant to the agent.
§ As with other topical tetracyclines, this ointment may stain clothes.
pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
§ For topical administration only.
§ Do not use more often than the stated dose.
How to apply the ointment
After cleaning skin gently and thoroughly, the ointment should be applied directly to the affected area 1 to 2 times (for best results apply 2 times daily morning and evening). This area may be covered with gauze dressing if desired.
Stop use and ask a doctor if condition persists or get worse.
If you use more TETRACYCLINE than you should
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you use too much tetracycline.
tetracycline is for use on the skin, if you swallow any talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you forget to use TETRACYCLINE
Apply the missed dose as soon as possible.
If it is almost time for your next regular dose, wait until then and skip the missed dose. Do not apply two doses at the same time.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Like all medicines, TETRACYCLINE can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
As with other topical antibacterials, few cases of mild irritation of the skin have been reported, and on rare occasions sensitisation may occur.
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.

- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and on the tube.
- Store below 30°C. Best use within one month of opening.
- Do not use this medicine if you notice any visible sign of deterioration.
- Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
The active ingredient is tetracycline. Each 1 gram contains 30mg of tetracycline Hydrochloride.
The other ingredients: Yellow soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, & oily vitamin E.

يستخدم مرهم تتراسيكلين للوقاية من حدوث العدوى الجلدية المصاحبة للجروح الطفيفة، الخدوش والحروق.
يلائم هذا الدواء معظم الأشخاص ولكن هناك عدد قليل من الأشخاص يجب عليهم عدم استعماله. يرجى منك التحدث إلى طبيبك المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه، إذا راودك أي شك حول ذلك.
يجب عدم استعمال هذا الدواء في الحالات التالية:
§ إذا كنت تعاني من الحساسية تجاه تتراسيكلين أو تجاه أياً من المكونات الأخرى في تتراسيكلين (المذكورة في البند 6)
يرجى منك طلب النصيحة من الطبيب المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه قبل استعمال تتراسيكلين، إذا كان أي مما ذكر أعلاه ينطبق عليك.
تحذيرات خاصة حول استعمال هذا الدواء
§ تجنب وضع المرهم قرب العينين والأنف والأغشية المخاطية الأخرى.
§ يجب عدم استعماله للجروح العميقة أو الوخزية أو للحروق الخطيرة إلا إذا أوصى به الطبيب المعالج.
§ إن استعمال مضاد للبكتيريا لفترة زمنية طويلة قد ينتج عنه حدوث عدوى بسبب الكائنات الدقيقة المقاومة له.
§ كما هو الحال مع مجموعة التتراسيكلين الموضعية الأخرى، فإن هذا المرهم قد يسبب بقعاً على الملابس.
الحمل والرضاعة الطبيعية
يرجى منك استشارة طبيبك المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعاملين معه للحصول على النصيحة قبل استعمال هذا الدواء إذا كنت حاملاً أو ترضعين طفلك رضاعة طبيعية.
يجب عليك دائماً استعمال تتراسيكلين بدقة وفقاً لتعليمات الطبيب المعالج. كما يجب عليك استشارة الطبيب المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه ما لم تكن متأكداً من طريقة الاستعمال.
§ للاستعمال الموضعي فقط.
§ يجب عدم تجاوز الجرعة الموصى بها.
كيفية استعمال المرهم
بعد تنظيف الجلد جيداً وبلطف، يجب وضع المرهم مباشرة على المنطقة المصابة مرة واحدة إلى مرتين (للحصول على نتائج أفضل، قم بوضعه مرتين يومياً صباحاً ومساءً). بالإمكان تغطية هذه المنطقة بقطعة شاش إذا أردت ذلك.
يرجى منك التوقف عن استعمال هذا الدواء واستشارة الطبيب المعالج في حال استمرار الحالة التي تعاني منها أو تفاقمها.
إذا استعملت تتراسيكلين بكمية أكبر مما يجب
يرجى منك التحدث إلى الطبيب المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه إذا استعملت تتراسيكلين بكميات أكبر مما يجب. يستعمل تتراسيكلين على الجلد فقط، إذا تم ابتلاعه يجب عليك استشارة طبيبك المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه.
إذا سهوت عن استعمال تتراسيكلين
يجب وضع الجرعة التي سهوت عنها في أقرب وقت حال تذكرها
إذا اقترب موعد الجرعة التالية، فيستحسن الاستمرار في جدول الجرعات دون وضع تلك الجرعة. يجب عدم وضع جرعتين في آن واحد.
إذا كان لديك المزيد من الاستفسارات حول استعمال هذا المستحضر، فيرجى منك استشارة طبيبك المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه.
شأنه شأن جميع الأدوية، قد يؤدي تتراسيكلين إلى حدوث تأثيرات جانبية، ولكن قد لا تحدث لكل شخص.
كما هو الحال مع مضادات البكتيريا الموضعية الأخرى، تم تسجيل حالات قليلة من التهيج الجلدي الطفيف، كما قد تظهر حالات نادرة من التحسس.
يرجى منك استشارة طبيبك المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه، في حال حدوث أية تأثيرات جانبية بما في ذلك التأثيرات الجانبية الأخرى المحتمل حدوثها ولم تذكر في هذه النشرة.

- يحفظ بعيداً عن متناول ومرأى الأطفال.
- يجب عدم استعمال هذا الدواء بعد تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية المذكور على العبوة والأنبوب.
- يحفظ في درجة حرارة أقل من 30ºم. يفضل استعماله خلال شهر واحد من الفتح.
- يجب عدم استعمال هذا الدواء إذا لاحظت وجود علامات تلف واضحة.
- يجب عدم التخلص من الأدوية عبر المياه المبتذلة (مياه الصرف الصحي) أو النفايات المنزلية. اسأل الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه عن كيفية التخلص من الأدوية التي لم تعد بحاجة إليها. ستساعد هذه الإجراءات على حماية البيئة.
المادة الفعالة هي تتراسيكلين. يحتوي كل 1 غرام على 30 ملغم من تتراسيكلين هيدروكلوريد.

No known drug interactions have been reported.
Pregnancy: Studies have not been done in humans. In studies done in experimental animals, topical tetracycline has not been shown to cause any problems to the foetus.
Lactation: It is not known whether tetracycline ointment pass into breast milk. However, tetracyclines are unlikely to be distributed into breast milk in significant amounts following topical administration, since the total daily dose is small and serum concentrations

There is no published information on overdosage of tetracycline following dermal application
Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that acts by inhibiting protein synthesis in susceptible organisms. It exerts its antiacne effect by suppressing the growth of Propionibacterium acnes that is found in sebaceous glands and follicles.
There is no published information on the systemic absorption of tetracycline following dermal application
