Laxolyne belongs to a group of medicines called laxatives. A laxative is a medicine which is used for the occasional treatment of constipation.
Laxolyne Suppositories act as a stimulant laxative for short term treatment of constipation and for emptying the bowels
Do not use Laxolyne Suppositories if your child:
§ Suffers from a blocked bowel or an abdominal problem for which you have not obtained a medical opinion
§ Is allergic (hypersensitive) to glycerin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Laxolyne Suppositories
If your child is diabetic you should speak to your doctor before using Laxolyne Suppositories as they may interfere with levels of sugar in their body.
It is not recommended that you use Laxolyne Suppositories for long periods of time.
If your child needs laxatives every day you should see your doctor.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
This subsection is not applicable for the Laxolyne children suppositories since they are intended for use in children; however the following information is relevant to the active ingredient, Glycerin.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Glycerin Suppositories should be avoided in the first three months of pregnancy. Glycerin Suppositories can be used during breastfeeding.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medication.
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure
1. Wash hands before opening individual packaging. If the suppository is too soft, it may be chilled in the refrigerator or under cold running water before unwrapping
2. To remove a suppository, tear one from the strip along the perforations then peel it from the plastic wrapping by grasping the two halves of the wrapping at the tip of the suppository and pulling them gently apart. The tip should be moistened with a little cold water to aid insertion.
3. Lay your child on their side and draw their knees up towards their chest.
4. Using your index finger or middle finger, whichever you find easier, gently push the suppository into the rectum. The suppository is shaped for rectal insertion; ensure the tip of the suppository is inserted first.
5. The suppository should be inserted as far as possible, pushing the end of the suppository sideways to ensure contact with the wall of the bowel.
6. Lower their legs to a comfortable position to help hold the suppository in place.
7. The suppository should be in place for at least 15 to 20 minutes if possible. If your child feels the suppository must come out immediately, it has not been inserted high enough.
8. Your child may feel an immediate urge to go to the toilet. Encourage them to try to ignore this as the suppository will not work for at least 15 minutes.
Laxolyne Suppositories should not be swallowed
Dosage
Children and infants: 1 - 2 paediatric suppositories per day.
As with all laxatives, the suppositories should not be used on a continuous daily basis for long periods. If you need laxatives every day you should see your doctor.
If Laxolyne Suppositories are swallowed
If you suspect someone may have swallowed Laxolyne Suppositories contact your doctor or pharmacist taking this leaflet with you.
If you have any questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
If any of the following symptoms occur contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately. These are symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.
§ Sudden wheeziness and tightness of chest
§ Swelling of eyelids, face or lips
§ Skin limps or hives
§ Skin rash (red spots), itchiness, fever
§ Collapse
Other side effects that may occur include:
§ Abdominal cramps
§ Irritation in or around the rectum (back passage)
If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton.
- Store below 30°C, protected from heat.
- Do not use this medicine if you notice any visible sign of deterioration
- Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
The active ingredient is Glycerin. Each suppository contains 900 mg of glycerin.

ينتمي لاكسولين إلى مجموعة من الأدوية التي تعرف باسم الملينات. إن الملين هو دواء يستخدم لعلاج حالات الإمساك العرضي.
تعمل تحاميل لاكسولين كملين محفز لعلاج حالات الإمساك وإفراغ الأمعاء على المدى القصير.
يجب عليك عدم استعمال تحاميل لاكسولين إذا كان طفلك:
§ يعاني من انسداد في الأمعاء أو مشاكل في البطن والتي لم تتلقى أية مشورة طبيبة تجاهها.
§ يعاني من الحساسية (فرط الحساسية) تجاه جليسيرين أو أياً من المكونات الأخرى في هذا الدواء (المذكورة في القسم رقم 6).
احتياطات وتحذيرات
يرجى منك التحدث مع طبيبك المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه قبل استعمال تحاميل لاكسولين
يرجى منك استشارة طبيبك المعالج قبل استعمال تحاميل لاكسولين، إذا كان طفلك يعاني من داء السكري حيث أنه من الممكن أن يؤثر على مستويات السكر في الجسم.
لا يوصى باستعمال تحاميل لاكسولين لفترة زمنية طويلة.
يرجى منك مراجعة طبيبك المعالج إذا كان طفلك بحاجة لاستعمال الملينات بصورة يومية.
الحمل، الرضاعة الطبيعية والخصوبة
هذه الجزئية غير قابلة للتطبيق بالنسبة لتحاميل لاكسولين للأطفال، حيث أنه معد للاستعمال في الأطفال، ومع ذلك فإن المعلومات التالية تتعلق بالمادة الفعالة، جليسيرين.

كيفية استعمال لاكسولين
1. اغسل يديك قبل فتح الغلاف الأولي. قد تكون التحميلة لينة جداً، يمكن تبريد التحميلة في الثلاجة أو بواسطة تمريرها تحت المياه الباردة الجارية قبل إزالة الغلاف.
2. لإزالة التحميلة، قم بقطع تحميلة واحدة من الشريط على طول الثقوب الفاصلة بين التحاميل ومن ثم قم بازالة التحميلة من الغلاف عن طريق إزالة نصفي الغلاف من ناحية الطرف المدبب للتحميلة وقم بسحب كلا من الطرفين برفق بعيداً عن بعضهما البعض. يجب أن يبلل طرف التحميلة بالماء البارد حتى تسهل عملية الإدخال.
3. اجعل الطفل يستلقي على أحد جانبيه مع ثني الركبتين ناحية الصدر.
4. قم باستعمال السبابة أو الاصبع الأوسط، بحسب الطريقة الأسهل لك، قم بدفع التحميلة برفق إلى داخل المستقيم. قد صممت التحميلة خصيصاً كي تناسب الإدخال في المستقيم، كن متأكداً من أنك قمت بإدخال طرف التحميلة المدبب أولاً.
5. يجب إدخال التحميلة بعيداً على قدر المستطاع، قم بدفعها من ناحية الجنب للتأكد من ملامستها لجدار الأمعاء.
6. قم بخفض قدمي الطفل للوضع المريح لمساعدة التحميلة على أن تثبت في مكانها.
7. يجب أن تبقى التحميلة في مكانها لمدة لا تقل عن 15 إلى 20 دقيقة قدر الإمكان، إذا كنت تشعر بأن التحميلة قد تخرج على الفور، معنى ذلك أنه لم يتم إدخالها بعيداً في المستقيم.
8. قد يشعر طفلك بالحاجة الماسة للذهاب إلى المرحاض. حاول تشجيعه على تجاهل هذا الإحساس، ذلك لأنه لا يظهر مفعول التحاميل إلا بعد 15 دقيقة على الأقل بعد الإدخال
لا يجب ابتلاع تحاميل لاكسولين
الجرعة:
الأطفال والرضع: 1-2 تحميلة أطفال يومياً.
شأنه شأن جميع الملينات، لا يجب استعمال التحاميل بصورة يومية أساسية لفترة زمنية طويلة. يرجى منك استشارة طبيبك المعالج إذا كنت بحاجة لاستعمال الملينات بصورة يومية.
إذا تم ابتلاع تحاميل لاكسولين
يرجى منك التواصل مع طبيبك المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه مع أخذ نشرة الدواء معك إذا كان يراودك شك بأن شخصاً ما قد قام بابتلاع تحاميل لاكسولين.
يرجى منك استشارة طبيبك المعالج أو الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه، إذا كان لديك أي أسئلة أخرى حول استعمال هذا الدواء.
شأنه شأن جميع الأدوية، قد يؤدي هذا الدواء إلى حدوث تأثيرات جانبية، ولكنها قد لا تحدث لكل شخص.

§ أزيز مفاجيء وضيق في التنفس
§ تورم الجفون، الوجه أو الشفتين
§ تكتلات جلدية أو طفح جلدي شبية بخلايا النحل
§ طفح جلدي (بقع حمراء)، حكة، حمى
§ تدهورعام في الصحة
قد تتضمن التأثيرات الجانبية الأخرى على:
§ تقلصات في البطن
§ تهيج داخل وحول منطقة المستقيم

- يحفظ بعيداً عن متناول ومرأى الأطفال.
- يجب عدم استعمال هذا الدواء بعد تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية المذكور على العبوة.
- احفظ الدواء في درجة حرارة أقل من 30ºم، بعيداً عن الحرارة.
- يجب عدم استعمال هذا الدواء إذا لاحظت وجود علامات تلف واضحة.
- يجب عدم التخلص من الأدوية عبر المياه المبتذلة (مياه الصرف الصحي) أو النفايات المنزلية. اسأل الصيدلي الذي تتعامل معه عن كيفية التخلص من الأدوية التي لم تعد بحاجة إليها. ستساعد هذه الإجراءات على حماية البيئة.
المادة الفعالة هي جليسيرين. تحتوي كل تحميلة على 900 ملغم من جليسيرين.
المواد الغير فعالة: استيارات الصوديوم وماء منقى.
تتوفر تحاميل لاكسولين للأطفال في عبوات يحتوي كلاً منها على 10 تحاميل.

The product is intended for occasional use only. Prolonged or excessive use of the product is not recommended as this may cause diarrhoea. Use of this product may interfere with glucose control in diabetic patients. If symptoms persist consult a doctor.

Overdosage via rectal route is unlikely. However, if ingested treat symptomatically.

Glycerine is commonly classified as an osmotic laxative but may act additionally or alternatively by promoting peristalsis and evacuation of the lower bowel by virtue of a mild irritant effect. Glycerine suppositories possess also lubricating and faecal softening actions.
Glycerine following rectal administration is poorly absorbed.
There are no preclinical data of relevance to the prescriber, which are additional to those already included in other sections of the SmPC.
