Fawar Fruit are highly palatable and pleasant-tasting sugar-free formulations for flatulence, indigestion, urine alkalinization and hyperchlorhydric dyspepsia. When added to water, the contents of each sachet interact to give carbon dioxide, sodium tartrate and sodium citrate. The administration of such mixture during effervescence results in an immediate and rapid antacid action due to neutralization of HCI in the stomach by unreacted sodum bicarbonate, with a rapid improvement of dyspepsia caused by hyperchlorhydria. The gentle pressure induced by carbon dioxide stimulates intestinal peristalsis while the produced sodium tartrate causes mild laxation due to its poor absorption. Sodium citrate, on the other hand, is metabolized in the body to sodium bicarbonate which is excreted in the urine causing an increase in its pH to the alkaline side. This is useful in reducing irritation in an inflamed urinary tract and when long-term maintenance of an alkaline urine is desirable as in patients with urinary urate and cysteine calculi and during treatment with sulfonamides. Moreover, being sugar-free, Fawar Fruit are the drugs of choice for patients on a low-carbohydrate regimen
:Indications
- Flatulence and indigestion associated with hyperchlorhydria
- To render the urine alkaline in the treatment of inflammatory conditions
of the urinary tract associated with acidic urine
- In gout therapy, as an adjuvant with uricosuric agents
- For prevention of crystalluria during treatment with sulfonamides
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation
Adults : The contents of one sachet to be added to half a glass of water and taken while effervescing after meals
Children : ( 3 to 12 years ) : Half the adults dose
Citric acid ingested frequently or in large quantities may cause erosion of the teeth and have a local irritant action
Store below 25o C, away from moisture

فوار فروت وفوار ليمون أملاح فواره ذات طعم مستساغ ومقبول ولا تحتوى على سكريات. وتتفاعل محتويات كيس الفوار مع الماء لتعطى ثانى أكسيد الكربون وطرطرات الصوديوم وسترات الصوديوم ولهذا الخليط تأثير سريع وفعال ضد الحموضة كما يتفاعل ما يتبقى من بيكربونات الصوديوم مع حمض المعدة الزائد ويزيل تأثيره فتختفى اعراض عسر الهضم الناشئة عن زيادة افراز هذا الحمض أما ثانى أكسيد الكربون فيساعد على تنشيط حركة الأمعاء بينما تحدث طرطرات الصوديوم تأثيراً مليناً لعدم امتصاصها من الأمعاء. ويتم امتصاص سترات الصوديوم وتتحول فى الجسم إلى بيكربونات الصوديوم التى تخرج عن طريق البول وتكسبه الصفة القلوية مما يفيد من الناحية العلاجية كثيراً فى حالات حصوات والتهابات المسالك البولية وأيضاً فى حالات العلاج بمركبات السلفا. ونظراً لأن فوار فروت وفوار ليمون لا يحتوى أى منهما على سكريات لذا فهما العلاج الأمثل للمرضى الذين يتبعون رجيم تقليل السكريات فى وجباتهم.
دواعى الاستعمال :
- حالات عسر الهضم وخاصة الناشئة عن زيادة افراز حمض المعدة.
- لاعطــاء الـبـول الصفــة القلويــة اللازمــة لعــلاج التهــابــات المسالك البوليــة المصاحبــة لزيـادة درجــة
حموضة البول.
- كعلاج مساعد فى حالات النقرس لمنع ترسب بلورات حمض اليوريك.
- لمنع تكـوين حصـوات فى الجـهـاز البولى عند التداوى بمركبات السلفا خصوصاً لفترات طويلة.
فرط الحساسية لأي من مكونات المستحضر
الجرعـة :
البالغون : تذاب محتويات كيس واحد فى نصف كوب من الماء وتؤخذ (خلال الفوران) بعد الأكل مباشرة.
الأطفال : (من ٣ - 12 سنة) نصف جرعة البالغين.
قد يتسبب تناول حامض الستريك بشكل متكرر أو بكميات كبيرة في تآكل الأسنان وله تأثير مهيج موضعي.
يحفظ فى درجة حرارة أقل من 25 Oم، بعيداً عن الرطوبة
تحفظ الأدوية بعيداً عن متناول الأطفال.

Interaction with other Medicinal Products and Other Forms of Interactions: Temporary alkalinization of urine increases renal clearance of acidic drugs such as salicylates, tetracyclines and barbiturates and increases half -life of basic drugs such as amphetamine
