The active ingredient in this medicine is Ichthammol.Ichthammol is bacteriostatic and can slow down the growth of bacteria. Also, it is used for the treatment of chronic eczema.
Do not use Ichthammol 10%
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active ingredient or to any of the other ingredients (listed in Section 6).

• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Ichthammol 10%

For external use on the skin only
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Adults, the elderly and children under 12 years:
• Apply 1-3 times daily to the affected skin.
If symptoms persist talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If the product is taken accidentally by mouth, see your doctor immediately or go to your nearest hospital casualty department. Take the product with you so that it can be identified.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
This medicine may occasionally cause skin irritation.
Reporting of side effects
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. By reporting side affects you can help by providing more information on the safety of this medicine.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not store above 30 °C.
- Discard the tube after one month from opening.
- Do not use after the expiry date on the label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Each gram from Icthammol ointment contains Ichthammol 10% w/w
Other ingredients are Yellow Soft paraffin and Anhydrous Lanolin.

تحذيرات و احتياطات
• لا تستخدم على الجلد المجروح.
تناول ادوية اخرى مع إكتامول ١٠%:
أخبر طبيبك أو الصيدلي إذا كنت تتناول ، أو تناولت مؤخراً أو قد تأخذ أي أدوية أخرى.
الحمل و الرضاعة الطبيعة
اسأل طبيبك أو الصيدلي للحصول على النصيحة قبل استخدام هذا الدواء..
للاستخدام الخارجي على فقط
استخدم دائمًا هذا الدواء تمامًا كما هو موضح في هذه النشرة أو كما أخبر طبيبك أو الصيدلي. استشر طبيبك أو الصيدلي إذا كنت غير متأكد.
الجرعه الموصى بها :
البالغين والمسنين والأطفال دون سن ١٢
ضعه من 1-3 مرات يوميًا على الجلد المصاب.
إذا استمرت الأعراض ، تحدث إلى طبيبك أو الصيدلي.
إذا تم أخذ المنتج عن طريق الخطأ عن طريق الفم ، فاستشر طبيبك على الفور أو انتقل إلى أقرب قسم الطوارئ بالمستشفى. اصطحب معك الدواء حتى يُمكن التعرف عليه.
قد يُسبب هذا الدواء آثارًا جانبية، مُثله مثل كافة الأدوية، على الرغم من عدم حدوثها لدى الجميع. قد يسبب هذا الدواء بعض الاحيان تهيج في
الجلد.
إذا ظهرت لديك أيَّة آثار جانبية، فتحدَّث إلى الطبيب المعالج لك أو الصيدلي الخاص بك. ويشمل ذلك أية آثار جانبية مُحتمَلة، غير المُدرجة في هذه النَّشرة. من خلال إبلاغك عن الآثار الجانبية، يمكنك المساعدة في توفير معلومات إضافية حول أمان استخدام هذا الدَّواء.
-يحفظ بعيداً عن متناول و مرأى الأطفال.
- يحفظ في درجة حرارة لا تزيد عن ٣٠ درجة مئوية.
- تخلص من الانبوب بعد شهر من وقت فتحها.
- لا تستخدم بعد تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية على الملصق. يشير تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية إلى اليوم الأخير من ذلك الشهر.

المكونات الأخرى: البارافين الأصفر الناعم واللانولين اللامائي.
إكتامول ١٠ ٪ مرهم عبارة عن مرهم بني غامق إلى أسود متجانس.

No significant problems have been reported either with pregnant women or with nursing mothers who are breast feeding; however, as with many other medicines, its use especially in the first 3 months of pregnancy, is recommended only when the benefits outweigh any risks.

Overdosage is unlikely to present a significant risk as it is applied topically; however, should it occur then treatment includes induction of emesis followed by supportive therapy which may include gastric lavage.
Ichthammol has a slight bacteriostatic effect and acts in a similar manner to Coal Tar BP being used in the treatment of the less acute forms of eczema.
Ichthammol is applied externally. There is little information available regarding its pharmacokinetics although it is probably not absorbed through intact skin.
