Jedco Cal-C sachets contain two important elements, calcium and Vitamin C which are essential factors for proper formation and maintenance of intracellular materials such as collagen of fibrous tissue, the bone matrix, dentin and cartilage.

Jedco Cal-C effervescent granules are indicated as:
A supplement to calcium and vitamin C.
2- Before you use Jedco Cal-C: Do not use jedco Cal-C in these cases:
 If you are allergic to Ascorbic acid, Calcium carbonate or any of the other ingredients in this medicine.
 If you have a condition causing high levels of Calcium in your blood or urine (hypercalcaemia or hypercalciuria) e.g.
- Severe kidney failure in people not on dialysis – you should not take this medicine unless advised by your doctor.
- Cancer which has affected your bones.
 If you have kidney stones. Take special care with Jedco Cal-C in these cases:
In patient liable to form kidney stone (calculus) formation Other medicines and Jedco Cal – C :
Tell your doctor if you are taking calcium supplements or antacids for indigestion, digitalis drugs (e.g. Lanoxin ), diuretics or corticosteroids.
If you are taking thyroxine, Bisphosphonate, warfarin , aspirin , Iron ,tetracycline or quinolone antibiotics make sure your doctor knows this. When taking these medicines leave a period of about 4 hours before taking your Jedco Cal- C sachets.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking , have recently taken or might take any other medicines including medicines obtained without a prescription. Jedco Cal- C with food:
This medicine should not be taken within 2 hours of eating foods rich in oxalic acid (e.g. spinach and rhubarb) , phosphate ( e.g. bran )or phytinic acid ( e.g. whole cereals ) Driving and using machines:
No impairment occurred in patients receiving Vitamin C or Calcium carbonate so no effect occurs on ability to drive and operate machinery.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Vitamin C in doses greater than 1g daily should not be taken during pregnancy since the effect of large doses on the fetus is unknown. Vitamin C is excreted in breast milk, but there is no evidence of any hazard.
- During pregnancy and lactation treatment with calcium should be under the direction of a physician. During pregnancy and lactation, requirements for calcium are increased but in deciding on the required supplementation allowances should be made for availability of these agents from other sources. If calcium and iron supplements are both required to be administered to the patient, they should be taken at different times.

Adults: one sachet daily unless otherwise prescribed by the physician.
The contents of one sachet to be dissolved in half glass of water and drunk immediately.
Children : Half sachet daily unless otherwise prescribed by the physician.
Warning: do not exceed the recommended dose to avoid complications.
 If you take more Jedco Cal – C than you should – you should only take what your doctor recommends. If you take many Jedco Cal- C sachets contact your doctor or pharmacist if you can do so. If not, go to the nearest hospital immediately, taking the Jedco Cal-C pack and remaining sachets with you.
 If you forget to take Jedco Cal-C - if you forget to take your sachet, take it as soon as possible and continue to take the sachets as normal. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
 If you stop taking Jedco Cal-C – always talk to your doctor or pharmacist before stopping using Jedco Cal- C.

Like all medicines, Jedco Cal- C can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Very rare side effects (affecting less than 1 in 10,000)
• Minor gastric intestinal disturbance, diarrhea and feeling sick.
If any of the side effects get serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
- Do not store above 30 C.
- Store in the original package.
- Do not use Jedco Cal-C sachets after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
- Do not use Jedco Cal – C if you notice any change in the color of the orange powder.
- Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
