1- WHAT GIAD IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
GIAD tablets contain sildenafil which is a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction.
Sildenafil acts by inhibition of cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (the enzyme that delays degradation of cGMP) leading to increases blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation.

2- BEFORE YOU TAKE GIAD
A-Do not takes GIAD:
- Do not use this medication if you are allergic to SILDENAFIL or any component of this drug.
- If you are using drugs containing nitrates.
- If you are under 18 years old.
- If you suffering from stomach ulcer.
- If you have a vision disease.
- If you have been advised by your doctor to avoid sexual activity.
- If you are taking another oral or local medicines for erectile dysfunction.
B-Take special care with GIAD
Check with your physician or pharmacist before using this medicine if:
- You have history of cardiovascular Disease like: Hypotension, Cerebrovascular Disease, heart rhythm problems or Myocardial Infarction.
- You have kidney or liver disease.
- If you having a high or low blood pressure.
- if you have a physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie's disease)
- if you have retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye)
- if you are suffering from a blood cell disorder such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia.
- Don’t exceed the recommended dose ( Don’t Take Sildenafil More Than Once Daily)
C-Taking other medicines, herbal or dietary supplements
- Protease inhibitors like: Ritonavir, emtricitabine, lopinavir, tenofovir, amprenavir, atazanavir, darunavir, delavirdine, nelfinavir, osamprenavir, saquinavir and indinavir may increase the plasma concentrations of sildenafil
- Inhibitors of CYP450 3A4 like: erythromycin, telithromycin, troleandomycin, sulfisoxazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, voriconazole, nefazodone, Amoxicillin, clarithromycin, lansoprazole may increase the plasma concentrations of sildenafil.
- Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitors like: Amyl nitrite, sodium nitrite, sodium thiosulfate, hydralazine, isosorbide dinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate, nitroglycerin may
increase hypertensive effect of sildenafil.
- Sildenafil may interact with some other drugs like: bosentan, cimetidine, conivaptan, imatinib, rifampin, diltiazem, doxazosin, nicardipine, quinidine and verapamil.
Please tell your physician or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without prescription.
D-Taking GIAD with food and drink
- GIAD tablets can be taken by mouth with or without food.
- Heavy meals can delay starting time of GIAD tablets.
- Alcohol can reduce erection, it's recommended to stop alcohol before taking GIAD tablets.
- Co administration with grapefruit juice may increase the oral bioavailability and delay the onset of action of GIAD tablets.
E-Pregnancy
Ask your physician or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine
SILDENAFIL classified as in class B. (Controlled studies done on animals in reproduction do not indicate risk to the fetus. No adequate and well-controlled studies done on pregnant women)
Sildenafil is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
F-Breastfeeding
There are no data about the excretion of sildenafil in human milk.
Ask your physician or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
G- Driving and using machines
GIAD tablets may cause visual disturbance and dizziness, patients taking sildenafil must be careful before driving or operating machines.
H- Important information about some of the ingredients of GIAD:
GIAD TABLET contains:
Lactose, tell your physician if you have lactose intolerance.
 

3- HOW TO TAKE GIAD
Always take GIAD tablets exactly as your physician has told you.
You should check with your physician or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Dosage
Your physician will determine what dose is appropriate for you.
For most patients, the recommended dose is 50 mg once daily to be taken as needed,
approximately one hour before sexual activity.
GIAD tablets can be taken anywhere from 4 hours to 0.5 hour before sexual activity.
The dose can be increased to 100 mg once daily (maximum dose) or decreased to 25 mg (minimum dose) by your physician or pharmacist.
GIAD tablets must be swallowed completely with a plenty of water.
GIAD tablets must be not taken more than once daily.
GIAD tablets can improve your erection if sexual excitation occurs.
An erection will not occur just by taking the tablets.
GIAD tablets normally create action after 1/2 to one hour of administration; this time can be changed from one person to an other.
If you take more GIAD than you should:
Call your physician or go to the nearest hospital emergency unit immediately.
some studies reported that a single doses up to 800 mg, show similar side effects to the at lower doses but with increasing in rate of incidence.
In the overdosage, regular supportive measures are recommended. Clearance of sildenafil may not increased by renal dialysis as it is highly bound to plasma proteins and it is not eliminated in the urine.
If you forget to take GIAD:
GIAD is used as needed, so no dosing schedule to be followed.
If you stop taking GIAD TABLETS:
Do not stop taking GIAD unless your physician tells you to. If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your physician or pharmacist.
 

4- POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, GIAD can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Tell your physician immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:
Giad may cause some of the following side effects:
- Severe allergic reactions including: Skin rash, itching, hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue.
- Nausea and vomiting
- Diarrhea and gastric upsets
- Dizziness and drowsiness
- Muscle pain
- Flushing
- Dry mouth
- Headache
- Vertigo
- Ringing in the ears
- Heartburn
- Chest pain
- Fainting
- Numbness
- Stuffy nose
- Memory loss
- Irregular blood pressure, high or low
- Irregular heartbeat
- Priapism (Prolonged painful erection may last 4 hours or longer)
- Vision disturbance like blurred vision, bleeding at the back of the eye, eye pain, double vision, red eyes and sudden d loss of vision.
- Feeling tired and sleepy.
- Some other side effects have been reported like: heart attack or reducing blood flow to the brain and sudden death.
- During sexual activity, if you feel dizzy or nauseated, or have pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw, stop and call your doctor right away.
If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your physician or pharmacist
 

5- HOW TO STORE GIAD
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Do not store above 30° C.
Store in the original container.
Do not use GIAD after the expiry date which is stated on the box.
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not use GIAD if you notice any visible signs of deterioration.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required.
These measures will help to protect the environment.
