This medicine contains Glucose and various salts which belong to a group of
medicines called oral electrolytes which act to replace fluids, minerals and
carbohydrates (e.g., sodium, potassium and dextrose) lost due to diarrhea
and vomiting. It helps prevent or treat the loss of too much body water
(dehydration). Having the right amount of fluids and minerals is important for
the normal functioning of the body.
This medicine can be taken by adults and children over 1 year old. However,
children under 1 year of age should not be given this medicine unless advised
to do so by a doctor. If a young child (particularly one under 6 months of age)
has diarrhoea and/or sickness advice should be sought from a pharmacist,
doctor or other healthcare professional. If the diarrhoea and/or sickness is
severe the child should be seen by a doctor as soon as possible.
Do not take:
• If you are allergic to any of the ingredients
• If you are severely dehydrated
• If you have a partial or full blockage (obstruction) of the bowel
• If you have phenylketonuria (this medicine contains aspartame, a source of phenylalanine)
• If you have an intolerance to some sugars, unless a doctor tells you to
(each sachet contains 3.58g of glucose) !
• Talk to your pharmacist or doctor:
• If you have liver problems
• If you have kidney problems, including producing little or no urine • If you
have severe and persistent diarrhoea and sickness • If you are unable to
drink fluids, or are unable to keep fluids down
• If you have diabetes
• If you are on a low salt (sodium) diet (each sachet contains 276 mg of
sodium, which may be harmful to you)
• If you are on a low potassium diet (each sachet contains 157 mg of
potassium, which may be harmful to you)
• You can take this medicine if you are pregnant and breastfeeding.
The basic unit of dosage is 240ml of water.
Babylyte should be offered frequently depending on the degree of dehydration,
response to therapy and amount that can be tolerated.
Children
Children under 2 years of age – before use consult your doctor first.
Children over 2 years of age – offer Babylyte every 3 or 4 hours.
1 to 2 liters (from 4 to 8 bottles) should be taken each day while diarrhea
continues.
If diarrhea continues for more than 24 hours or there is vomiting or fever
other measures must be taken on consideration.
This medicine is not expected to cause side effects. If you notice any side
effects talk to your pharmacist or doctor.
Reporting of side effects If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist
or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C
After first opening, the bottles should be refrigerated m and then discard
unused portion after 48 hours.
Each liter contains:
- Dextrose Monohydrate 27.5 grams [Equivalent to Anhydrous Dextrose 25 grams]
- Sodium Chloride 2.045 grams
- Potassium Citrate 2.162 grams
- Sodium Citrate 0.980 grams
- Water for Injections to 1000 ml

یحتوي ھذا الدواء على الجلوكوز والأملاح المختلفة التي تنتمي إلى مجموعة من الأدویة تسمى
الالكترولایت والتي تؤخذ عن طریق الفم و تعمل على استبدال السوائل والمعادن والكربوھیدرات
(مثل الصودیوم والبوتاسیوم دكستروز) المفقودة بسبب الإسھال والقيء. یساعد على منع أو علاج
فقدان الكثیر من ماء الجسم (الجفاف). وجود كمیة مناسبة من السوائل والمعادن أمر مھم للأداء
الطبیعي للجسم.
يمكن تناول ھذا الدواء من قبل البالغين والأطفال الذين تزيد أعمارهم عن سنة. ومع ذلك ، لا
ينبغي إعطاء هذا الدواء للأطفال الذين تقل أعمارهم عن سنة واحدة ما لم ينصح الطبيب بذلك. إذا
كان طفلاً صغيراً (وخاصة طفل یقل عمره عن ٦ أشهر) مصاب بالإسهال و / أو يجب طلب
المشورة من الصيدلي أو الطبيب أو غيره من متخصصي الرعاية الصحية. إذا كان الإسهال و / أو

لا تأخذ بييي لايت إذا:
• إذا كنت تعاني من حساسية تجاه أي من المكونات

• إذا كنت تعاني من بيلة الفينيل كيتون (يحتوي هذا الدواء على الأسبارتام ، وهو مصدر للفينيل ألانين)
• إذا كنت تعاني من عدم تحمل بعض السكريات ، إلا إذا أخبرك الطبيب بذلك (تحتوي كل كيس
على ۳٫٥۸ غرام من الجلوكوز)!
• تحدث إلى الصیدلي أو الطبیب:
• إذا كنت تعاني من مشاكل في الكبد
• إذا كنت تعاني من مشاكل في الكلى ، بما في ذلك إنتاج القليل من البول أو عدمه. • إذا كنت تعاني
من الإسهال والمرض الحاد والمستمر.
• إذا كنت تعاني من مرض السكري

الوحدة الأساسية للجرعة ھي ۲٤۰ مل من الماء.
يجب أن يتم تقدیم بيبي لايت بشكل متكرر بناءً على درجة الجفاف والاستجابة للعلاج والكمية
الذي يمكن تحملها.
ليس من المتوقع أن يسبب هذا الدواء آثارًا جانبية. إذا لاحظت أي آثار جانبية ، فتحدث إلى الصيدلي
أو الطبيب.
الإبلاغ عن الآثار الجانبية إذا كنت تعاني من أي آثار جانبية ، فتحدث إلى طبيبك أو الصيدلي أو

If nausea and vomiting are present with the diarrhea, small but frequent amounts of Babylyte should be drunk at first.
For use in the elderly no specific precautions are necessary. However, care should be taken when administering glucose-electrolyte solutions in cases of severe renal or hepatic impairment or other conditions where the normal electrolyte balance may be distributed.
Medical supervision is necessary in patients with renal disease, including anuria and prolonged oliguria.
This product contains dextrose. Patients with rare-glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.

In the event of significant overdose, serum electrolytes should be evaluated as soon as possible, appropriate steps taken to correct any abnormalities and levels monitored until return to normal levels is established. This is particularly important in the very young and in cases of severe hepatic or renal failure.
Babylyte is an oral rehydration therapy. The combination of electrolytes stimulates water and electrolyte absorption from the gastro-intestinal tract and therefore prevents dehydration in diarrhea.
Sodium and glucose are actively transported via the membrane into the enterocytes. Sodium is then extruded into the intercellular spaces and the resulting osmotic gradient causes water and electrolytes to be drawn from the gut and then into the circulation.

Before administration, the product should be visually inspected for any particulate matter and discoloration. For single use only. Any unused solution should be discarded.
Use only if the solution is clear, without visible particles and if the container is undamaged.
Discard any unused portion.
