Deflat drops contain the active substance simethicone. It is an antiflatulent which means that it helps to bring up wind or air trapped in the tummy.Deflat is given to babies to relieve griping pain, infant colic or wind due to trapped air. It can be given from birth onwards. The pain associated with colic may be caused by the build-up of small gas bubbles trapped in your baby’s tummy. Simethicone, the active ingredient in Deflat, helps all the little trapped gas bubbles join into bigger bubbles which your baby can easily bring up as wind.
- Do not give Deflat and get advice from a doctor if your baby is being treated for a thyroid disorder.
- Do not give Deflat if you think your baby might be allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients of Deflat (see section 6 of this leaflet).
Taking/using other medicines, herbal, or dietary supplements
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. This is because these medicines may affect the way Deflatworks. Also, Deflat may affect the way these medicines work.
If your baby is being treated with levothyroxine for a thyroid disorder using Deflat might reduce the amount of this type of medicine that is absorbed and weaken the effect of their treatment.
Always give Deflat drops exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Dose:
Deflat is very simple to give, even when your baby is crying. The normal dose is half dropper (0.5ml)which should be given before each feed. If after 3 or 4 days your baby’s colic still seems to be upsetting, you can double the dose to one dropper full (1ml). This may be especially useful at night, before the evening feed.
Deflat should be used for several days to achieve the best results, as treatment may show a progressive effect. Continued use may help to prevent a further buildup of wind. You can continue to use Deflatfor for several weeks. However, if despite having increased the dose to one dropper full there is no improvement or your baby seems to be getting worse, speak to your health visitor or doctor.
Administration:
- Gently shakes the bottle.
- Draw up one dropper full by squeezing the bulb twice. Let the excess Deflat on the outside of the dropper run back into the bottle.
- Administer the dose by squeezing the bulb and releasing the Deflat onto the back of your baby’s tongue.
Do not use the dropper for other medicines. Keep it for Deflate only.
If you give more Deflat drops than you should
If your baby (or an adult) accidentally swallows a large quantity of Deflat (such as a whole bottle full) itis highly unlikely to do any harm.
However, if the person who has taken it feels or looks unwell, you should seek medical advice.
If you forget to give Deflat drops
Do not worry if you forget to give your baby one or more doses. Simply give the next dose before the baby’s next feed.
If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Simethicone, the active ingredient in Deflat, is not absorbed into the baby’s body and is very unlikely to harm your baby. It is very unusual for Deflat to cause any side-effects.
If you get any side effects to talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
- Store below 30⁰C.Store in the original packaging.
- Do not use Deflat drops after the expiry date which is stated on the label and carton. The expiry refers to the last day of that month.Tell your pharmacist if you notice any change in the appearance of the drops.
- Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
The active substance is simethicone.
The other ingredients are : Benzoic acid, Sodium benzoate, Polyoxyl stearyl ether, Saccharin sodium, Pineappleflavor, Purified water.
Each 1 mL drops contains 40 mg simethicone.

تحتوي نقط ديفلات على المادة الفعالة سيميثيكون. وهو مضاد انتفاخ البطن الذي يعني أنه يساعد على طرح الرياح أو الهواء المحبوس في البطن.ويعطى ديفلات للأطفال الرضع لتخفيف ألم الإمساك ومغص الرضع أوالرياح الناتج عن الهواء المحبوس. ويمكن أن يعطى منذ الولادة وما بعدها. قد يكون سبب الألم الذي يصاحب المغص من تراكم فقاعات الغاز الصغيرة المحاصرة في بطن طفلك. سيميثيكون، المادة الفعالة في ديفلات، يساعد كل فقاعات الغاز الصغيرة المحاصرة للإنضمام إلى فقاعات أكبر مما يمكن طفلك بسهولة من طرحها كرياح.
لا تعطي ديفلات واحصل على المشورة من الطبيب إذا كان طفلك يتلقى علاج لإضطرابات الغدة الدرقية.
لا تعطي ديفلات إذا كنت تعتقد أن طفلك قد يكون حساس (حساسية عالية) إلى أي من مكونات ديفلات(انظر القسم 6 من هذه النشرة).
أخذ/استخدام أدوية أخرى، أعشاب، أو مكملات غذائية
في حال كنت تأخذ أو قد أخذت مؤخرا أو كنت تنوي أن تأخذ أدوية أخرى، بما فيها الأدوية التي تؤخذ بدون وصفة طبية اطلع طبيبك أو الصيدلاني . ذلك لأن تلك الأدوية يمكن أن تؤثر على مفعول ديفلات. أيضاً ديفلات يمكن أن يؤثر على طريقة عمل تلك الأدوية.
إذا كان طفلك يتلقى ليفوثايروكسين لعلاج إضطرابات الغدة الدرقية فإن استخدام ديفلات قد يؤدي إلى تقليل الكمية التي يتم امتصاصها من هذا النوع من الأدوية وبالتالي إضعاف التأثير العلاجي لها.
دائماً أعطي نقط ديفلات حسب إرشادات طبيبك بدقة. يجب أن تتحقق من طبيبك أو الصيدلي إذا كنت غير متأكد.
الجرعة
ديفلات سهل جداً للإعطاء، حتى إذا كان طفلك يبكي. الجرعة العادية هي نصف قطارة(0.5 مل) والتي ينبغي أن تعطى قبل كل رضعة. بعد 3 أو 4 أيام، إذا كان يبدو أن المغص لا يزال مزعجاً لطفلك، يمكنك مضاعفة الجرعة إلى قطاره كاملة (1 مل). هذه قد تكون مفيدة خصوصا في الليل، قبل رضعة المساء.
ينبغي أن تستخدم ديفلات لعدة أيام لتحقيق أفضل النتائج ، حيث أن تأثير العلاج قد يظهر تدريجياً. الاستخدام المستمر قد يساعد على منع بناء المزيد من الرياح. تستطيع الاستمرار في استخدام ديفلات لعدة أسابيع. ومع ذلك، إذا لم يكن هناك أي تحسن على الرغم من زيادة الجرعة إلى قطارة كامله ، أو يبدو أن حالة طفلك تزداد سوءا، تحدث مع طبيبك.
طريقة الإعطاء
- رج العبوة بلطف.
- اسحب قارة كاملة عن طيق الضغط على المطاطة في أعلى القطارة مرتين. اترك الزائد من ديفلات خارج القطارة ليرجع إلى العبوة.
- أعطي الجرعة عن طريق الضغط على المطاطة في أعلى القطارة وتركها لينطلق الديفلات إلى الجزء الخلفي من لسان طفلك.
لا تستخدم القطارة للأدوية الأخرى. أبقيها فقط لنقط ديفلات.
إذا تناولت نقط ديفلات أكثر مما يجب
إذا بلع طفلك (أو شخص بالغ) بطريق الخطأ كمية كبيرة من ديفلات ( مثل زجاجة كاملة) فمن المستبعد جدا أن تفعل أي ضرر.
ومع ذلك، إذا كان الشخص الذي تناوله يشعر أو لا يبدو على ما يرام، يجب أن يطلب نصيحة طبية.
إذا نسيت أن تعطي نقط ديفلات
لا تقلق إذا نسيت أن تعطي طفلك جرعة واحدة أو أكثر. ببساطة أعطي الجرعة التالية قبل موعد رضعة الطفل المقبلة.
في حال لديك أي أسئلة اخرى تتعلق باستعمال هذا الدواء، اتصل بطبيبك أو بالصيدلاني.
سيميثيكون، المادة الفعالة في ديفلات لا يتم امتصاصها في جسم الطفل ومن غير المرجح أبداً أن تضر طفلك. أنه من غير المألوف للغاية بالنسبة لديفلات أن يسبب أي آثار جانبية.
إذا أصبت بأي آثار جانبية اتصل مع طبيبك أو الصيدلي.
- يحفظ بعيداً عن متناول أيدي الأطفال وعن مجال بصرهم.
- يحفظ ضمن حرارة أقل من 30 درجة مئوية يخزن ضمن عبوته الأصلية .
- لا تستعمل نقط ديفلات بعد تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية المدون على العبوة الخارجية والملصق. تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية يعني اليوم الاخير من ذلك الشهر. اتصل بالصيدلي إذا لاحظت أي اختلاف في شكل النقط.
- يجب عدم رمي الادوية بتاتاً في المجاري أو النفايات المنزلية اسأل الصيدلي عن كيفية التخلص من الأدوية الغير مستعملة. هذه التدابير تسمح بحماية البيئة.
على ماذا تحتوي نقط ديفلات
المادة الفعالة هي سيميثيكون
المكونات الاخرى هي: حمض البنزويك، بنزوات الصوديوم، بولي أوكسيل ستياريل إيثر، السكرين الصوديوم ، نكهة الاناناس، ماء نقي.
كل 1 مل نقط يحتوي على 40 مغ سيمثيكون.
كيف تبدو نقط ديفلات وما هي محتويات العبوة
نقط ديفلات 40 مغ/ مل لونها ابيض الى سكري مستحلب ومتجانس متوفر في عبوات 30 مل و 50 مل ، مع غطاء بلاستيك. مزودة بقطارة بلاستيكية.
من الممكن أن لا تكون جميع الأحجام مسوقة.

The gas bubbles are thus broken down or coalesced and in this form gas is more easilyeliminated through eructationor passing flatus.
Simethicone is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.
