Dewax is used to help remove ear wax in adults, the elderly and children. The drops help to clear your ear canal if it is blocked with wax by softening it and breaking it up.
Do not take Dewax:
-If you have a perforated (burst) eardrum.
-If your ear is sore inside.
Using other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
-If you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant Dewax can be used.
- If you are breast-feeding Dewax can be used.
Driving and using machines
Dewax should not affect your ability to drive or use machines.
Always use Dewax exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Fill the ear canal with Dewax with the head tilted. On the next night apply Dewax again as prescribed above. Unless the ear wax is unusually hard, it may be removed by normal cleansing process. If the problem persists you should consult your doctor.
The best time to do this is before you go to bed.
Only use the drops for 2 nights at a time. If you feel that the drops are not working after this time, or the problem continues to exist, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.
If you use more Dewax than you should
Dewax may seep from the ear. It is unlikely that you will notice any problems but if you do have any (such as skin irritation) you should tell your doctor.
If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
-Like all medicines, Dewax can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
-Some people may have an allergic reaction which may include redness of the skin area and/or a rash.
-Rarely there is stinging or soreness, which does not last long. If it does continue, do not use the drops on the next night.
-Injuries or swelling of the ear canal may result in painful symptoms.

The active ingredient in Dewax is: Docusate sodium 5 mg/ml
Other ingredients are: Polyethylene glycol 400, Polyethylene glycol 6000, Propylene glycol, Sodium phosphate dibasic, Sodium phosphate monobasic and mixed parabens in 2-phenoxy ethanol 6 mg\ml as preservative and highly purified water.

يستخدم ديواكس في المساعدة على إزالة شمع الأذن للبالغين وكبار السن والأطفال. تساعد القطرات على تنظيف قناة الأذن إذا تم إغلاقها من الشمع وذلك من خلال تليينه وتحطيمه.
لا تستخدم ديواكس.
- إذا كان لديك ثقب في طبلة الأذن.
- إذا كان هناك تقرحات داخل أذنك.
استخدام ادوية اخرى
الرجاء إخبار طبيبك أو الصيدلي إذا كنت تأخذ أوأخذتَ مؤخراً أي أدوية أخرى، بما في ذلك الأدوية التي تم الحصول عليها دون وصفة طبية.
الحمل و الرضاعة
-يمكن أستعمال القطرة إذا كنت حاملا أو تخططين أن تصبحي حاملاً .
- ويمكن أستعمال القطرة إذا كنت مرضعة .
القيادة و استخدام الآلات
- لا تأثير على قدرتك على القيادة أو استخدام الآلات عند استعمال ديواكس.
استخدم ديواكس تماماً كما وصفه الطبيب لك، ويجب أن تستشير طبيبك أو الصيدلاني إذا كنت غير متأكد من ذلك.
املأ قناة الأذن من قطرة ديواكس بحيث تكون وضيعة الرأس بشكل مائل. ويمكن تكرار العملية في الليلة التالية كما تم توضيحه سابقاً .إذا كان شمع الأذن ذا قساوة غير عادية فيمكن إستخدام طريقة التنظيف العادية للأذن .
يجب إستشارة الطبيب إذا استمرت المشكلة.
أفضل وقت لإستخدامه قبل أن تذهب إلى السرير.
استخدم القطرات لمدة ليلتين فقط في نفس الوقت. إذا كنت تشعر بأن القطرات لا تجدي بعد هذا الوقت، أو لا تزال المشكلة موجودة، يرجى الاتصال بالطبيب أو الصيدلي.
إذا استخدمت جرعة زائدة من ديواكس
قد يتسرب ديواكس من الأذن. فمن غير المرجح أنك لن تلاحظ أي مشكلة ولكن إذا كان لديك أي (مثل تهيج الجلد) يجب إخبار الطبيب بذلك.
إذا كان لديك أي أسئلة أخرى عن استخدام هذا المنتج، إسأل طبيبك أو الصيدلي.
-مثل جميع الادوية، يمكن أن يسبب ديواكس آثار جانبية ،وربما لا يحصل ذلك لكل المرضى.
- قلة من الناس قد تعاني من أعراض حساسية والتي تشمل احمرار الجلد و / أو طفح جلدي.
-نادراً يحدث لذعة أو تقرحات، والتي قد لا تدوم طويلاً. إذا استمرت هذه الاعراض، لا تستخدم القطرة الليلة التالية.
-إصابات أو تورم قناة الأذن ربما يؤدي إلى الأعراض المؤلمة.

Dewax Ear Drops are indicated as an aid in the removal of ear wax.
Recommended dose and dosage schedules:
Adults (including the elderly): The application of ear drops sufficient to fill the affected ear on not more than two consecutive nights, prior to attending for syringing if this is necessary. If the problem persists patients should consult their doctor.
Children: As for adult dose.
If pain or inflammation is experienced, treatment should be discontinued.

There is no evidence to suggest that Dewax Ear Drops should not be used during pregnancy
and lactation.

Skin disorders: contact dermatitis and allergic skin reactions

Excess Dewax may seep from the ear and treatment of any resulting adverse events, such as skin irritation should be symptomatic.

The so-called "wax" which often obstructs the external auditory meatus of the ear contains less than 50% of fatty matter derived from secretions of the sebaceous ceruminous glands. The majority of the wax consists of desquamated epithelium, foreign matter and shed hairs. This non-fatty material forms a matrix holding together the granules of fatty matter to form the ceruminous mass.
The addition of oils or solvents binds the mass more firmly together, but aqueous solutions, if they are able to penetrate the matrix, cause a disintegration of the ceruminous mass.
Dewax Ear Drops, because of their low surface tension and miscibility, rapidly penetrate the dry matrix of the ceruminous mass, reducing the solid material to a semi-solid debris. This can be syringed away readily, or in less severe or chronic cases, is ejected by normal physiological processes.
There are no available data on systemic absorption following instillation into the ear. However, any absorption which may occur is likely to be of an extremely low magnitude.
Although no toxicity studies via application to the ear are available, oral repeated dose toxicity studies with docusate sodium did not identify any clinically relevant information.

DEWAX is a non sterile ear drops in a plastic dropper bottle. Each carton
contains 1 plastic bottle with a dropper. Each bottle contains 10 ml of the ear
drops as written on the front of the carton.
The dropper applicator must be filled before dripping DEWAX Ear Drops into the affected ear.
