Sine UP Syrup contains two active ingredients. The first is α-chlorpheniramine maleate, the potent antihistaminic.which competitively antagonizes histamine at the H1-receptor sites. It is quickly absorbed and induces a rapid onset of action with an inherent long duration. α-chlorpheniramine maleate is characterized by its minimal sedative effect making its administration devoid of the dizziness accompanying other antihistaminics.
The second ingredient in Sine UP Syrup is Phenylephrine hydrochloride, the sympathomimetic amine, which stimulates the postsynaptic alpha adrenergic receptors of the vascular smooth muscles. This leads to vasoconstriction of the arterioles of the mucosa of the nasal and respiratory passages and, in turn, it reduces the nasal and bronchial secretions with a rapid and, effective relief of respiratory congestion. These two ingredients, in such a balanced formula, make Sine UP Syrup the drug of choice when an antihistaminic and anticatarrhal remedy is needed for fast and persistent effects.
Indications :
- For symptomatic relief of respiratory congestion due to common cold
allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis and upper respiratory allergies
( e. g. sinusitis ).
- Rhinosinusitis, pharyngitis and laryngitis.
- Otitis Media.

As with all other antihistaminics, sedation might occur on administration of the syrup , but it is mild and remains for a short time. The drug should be used cautiously in hypertension, ischemic heart or thyrotoxicosis

Store below 25 o C, away from direct sunlight.

الأطفال ( 1 - 3 سنوات ) : نصف ملعقة شــاى 3 مـــرات يومياً .
الأطفال ( 3 - 12 سنة ) : ملعقة شــاى 3 مـــرات يومياً .
البالغــــين : 2 ملعقة شـــاى 3 مــــرات يوميـــاً .
كما يحدث فـى حالات إستعمال مضادات الحساسية الأخرى فإن هذا الدواء قد يسبب ميلا للنعاس وهو أثر جانبى خفيف مدته قصيرة، لذا ينصح بعدم قيادة السيارة لمدة طويلة كما ينصح بعدم إستعمال هذا الدواء لمرضى ضغط الدم المرتفع والقصور فى الدورة التاجية وزيادة نشاط الغدة الدرقية .
يحفظ فـــى درجــــة حـــرارة أقل من 25 o م، بعيداً عن ضوء الشمس المباشـر .
تحفظ الأدويــة بعيداً عن متنـاول الأطفــال.

SINE-UP Syrup is indicated for :
- Allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis and hay fever.
- Sinusitis, rhinosinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, otitis media and serum sickness.
- Allergic skin manifestations, such as urticaria, angioedema, allergic eczema, atopic dermatitis and insect bites.
Children (1- 3 years): Half teaspoonful three times daily.
Children (3- 12 years): One teaspoonful three times daily.
Adults and Children over 12 years: Two teaspoonfuls three times daily.
As with other preparations containing sodium metabisulfite (among excipients) SINE-UP Syrup should not be used for patients with history of hypersensitivity to sodium metabisulfite; it may cause allergic reactions.
Precautions:
As with other preparations containing antihistaminics and vasoconstrictors, SINE-UP Syrup should be used cautiously in the elderly and in patients with increased intraocular pressure, hyperthyroidism, cardiac or renal diseases, hypertension, bronchial asthma and urine retention. Patients should avoid driving cars and operating machines until they have learned how the drug affects their performance because of the possibility of reduced alertness.
- Concomitant use of antihistaminics with alcohol or other CNS depressants may result in additive depressant effects.
- -Chlorpheniramine maleate increases phenytoin serum levels.
- Concomitant administration of phenylephrine with other sympathomimetic drugs may increase the risk of arrhythmias including tachycardia.
The use of phenylephrine-containing preparations should be avoided during pregnancy. It should be used under medical supervision during lactation.
Patients should avoid driving cars and operating machines until they have learned how the drug affects their performance because of the possibility of reduced alertness.
SINE-UP Syrup is safe and well tolerated. As with other antihistaminics, mild sedation might occur on administration of the syrup.
Accidental ingestion of high doses of -chlorpheniramine maleate and phenylephrine-containing preparations causes headache, drowsiness, visual changes, palpitation and seizures. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Gastric lavage may be needed.
SINE-UP Syrup is used to treat the allergic symptoms of hay fever and other allergies.
The active ingredient are chlorphenamine maleate, an antihistamine which can help to relieve the symptoms of some allergies and itchy skin rashes and phenylephrine hydrochloride, the sympathomintic amine which causes vasoconstriction of the arterioles of the mucosa of nasal and respiratory passages with rapid and effective relief of respiratory congestion.
Following oral administration of SINE-UP Syrup, chlorpheniramine maleate is absorbed from the GIT. Peak plasma concentrations are achieved within 2.5 - 6 hours. The drug is about 70% bound
to plasma proteins and is widely distributed in the body and enters the CNS. Chlorpheniramine is metabolized in the liver and the metabolites are mainly excreted in urine. The drug appears in breast milk. Phenylephrine is variably absorbed after oral administration with peak plasma concentration at 1 - 2 hours and plasma half-life of 2 - 3 hours.
Non-clinical data revealed no special hazard for humans based on conventional studies of safety pharmacology, repeated-dose toxicity, genotoxicity, carcinogenic potential and toxicity to reproduction and development.
