WAXSOL is used to help remove ear wax in adults, the elderly and
children. The drops help to clear your ear canal if it is blocked with
wax by softening it and breaking it up.
Do not use WAXSOL
- If you have a perforated (burst) eardrum.
- • If your ear is sore inside.
Taking or using other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have
recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained
without a prescription.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
- • If you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant WAXSOLcan be used.
- • If you are breast-feeding WAXSOL can be used.
Driving and using Machines
WAXSOL should not affect your ability to drive or use machines.
Always use WAXSOL exactly as your doctor has told you.
You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not
sure.
How to use the drops:
• Fill the dropper from the bottle.
• Tilt your head to one side.
• Gently drip WAXSOL into your blocked ear until it is full.
The best time to do this is before you go to bed.
Only use the drops for 2 nights at a time. If you feel that the drops
are not working after this time, or the problem continues to exist,
please contact your doctor or pharmacist.
If you use more WAXSOL than you should, this may seep from the
ear. It is unlikely that you will notice any problems but if you do have
any (such as skin irritation) you should tell your doctor.
If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask
your doctor or pharmacist.
Like all medicines, WAXSOL can cause side effects, although not
everybody gets them.
• Some people may have an allergic reaction which may include
redness of the skin area and/or a rash.
• Rarely there is stinging or soreness, which does not last long. If it
does continue, do not use the drops on the next night.
• Injuries or swelling of the ear canal may result in painful
symptoms.
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Store below 30°C.
To be used within 28 days after first opening.
Do not use WAXSOL after the expiry date which is printed or
embossed on the carton and label as month/ year. The expiry date
refers to the last day of that month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household
waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer
required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
What WAXSOL contains?
The active substance is Docusate Sodium (BP). The liquid in the
bottle contains 0.5% w/v docusate sodium.
The other ingredients are glycerol, water and a preservative called
Phenonip.

يستخدم واكسول للمساعدة على إزالة شمع الأذن في البالغين وكبار السن والأطفال. القطرات تساعد على تنظيف قناة الأذن الخاص بك إذا كانت مسدودة بواسطة تليين الشمع وكسره.
لا تستخدم واكسول
- إذا كان لديك ثقب (انفجار) بطبلة الأذن.
- إذا كانت أذنك بها التهاب في الداخل
أخذ أو استخدام أدوية أخرى
يرجى إخبار الطبيب أو الصيدلي إذا كنت تأخذ أو اتخذت مؤخرا أي أدوية أخرى، بما في ذلك الأدوية التي تم الحصول عليها دون وصفة طبية.
الحمل والرضاعة الطبيعية
إذا كنت حاملا أو تفكيرين في أن تصبحين حاملا يمكن استخدام واكسول.

القيادة واستخدام الآلات
واكسول لا يؤثر على القدرة على القيادة أو استخدام الآلات.
دائما استخدام واكسول تماما كما قد أخبرك طبيبك.
يجب عليك التحقق مع طبيبك أو الصيدلي إذا كنت غير متأكد.
كيفية استخدام القطرات:
املأ القطارة من الزجاجة.
أدر رأسك إلى جانب واحد.
بلطف يقطر واكسول في أذنك المسدودة حتى تمتلئ.
أفضل وقت للقيام بذلك قبل أن تذهب إلى السرير.
فقط استخدام القطرات لمدة ليلتين في المرة الواحدة. إذا كنت تشعر بأن القطرات لا تعمل بعد هذه المدة، أو لا تزال المشكلة موجودة، يرجى الاتصال بالطبيب أو الصيدلي.
إذا استخدمت واكسول أكثر مما يجب فإن هذا قد يتسرب من الأذن. فمن غير المرجح أنك ستلاحظ أي مشاكل ولكن إذا كان لديك أية مشكلة (مثل تهيج الجلد) يجب عليك إخبار الطبيب بذلك.
إذا كان لديك أي أسئلة أخرى عن استخدام هذا المنتج، إسأل طبيبك أو الصيدلي.

لا تستخدم واكسول بعد تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية الذي يتم طباعته أو نقشه على الكرتون و ملصق الزجاجة مثل شهر / سنة. تاريخ الانتهاء يشير إلى اليوم الأخير من ذلك الشهر.
لا ينبغي أن يتم التخلص من الأدوية عن طريق مياه الصرف الصحي أو النفايات المنزلية. اسأل الصيدلي عن كيفية التخلص من الأدوية التي لم تعد مطلوبة. سوف تساعد هذه التدابير على حماية البيئة.
على ما يحتوي واكسول
المادة الفعالة بها دوكوسات الصوديوم (دستور الأدوية البريطاني). السائل في الزجاجة يحتوي على 0.5٪ w/v دوكوسات الصوديوم.

WAXSOL Ear Drops are indicated as an aid in the removal of ear wax.
Recommended dose and dosage schedules:
Adults (including the elderly): The application of ear drops sufficient to fill the affected ear on not more than two
consecutive nights, prior to attending for syringing if this is necessary. If the problem persists patients should
consult their doctor.
Children: As for adult dose.
If pain or inflammation is experienced, treatment should be discontinued.
Not known.
There is no evidence to suggest that WAXSOL Ear Drops should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Immune system disorders: hypersensitivity/allergic reactions
Skin disorders: contact dermatitis and allergic skin reactions
General disorders: Application site reactions rarely including transient stinging or irritation may occur. Injuries or
inflammation in the auditory canal may result in painful symptoms.

Excess WAXSOL may seep from the ear and treatment of any resulting adverse events, such as skin irritation
should be symptomatic.
The so-called "wax" which often obstructs the external auditory meatus of the ear contains less than 50% of fatty
matter derived from secretions of the sebaceous ceruminous glands. The majority of the wax consists of
desquamated epithelium, foreign matter and shed hairs. This non-fatty material forms a matrix holding together the
granules of fatty matter to form the ceruminous mass.
The addition of oils or solvents binds the mass more firmly together, but aqueous solutions, if they are able to
penetrate the matrix, cause a disintegration of the ceruminous mass.
WAXSOL Ear Drops, because of their low surface tension and miscibility, rapidly penetrate the dry matrix of the
ceruminous mass, reducing the solid material to a semi-solid debris. This can be syringed away readily, or in less
severe or chronic cases, is ejected by normal physiological processes.
There are no available data on systemic absorption following instillation into the ear. However, any absorption
which may occur is likely to be of an extremely low magnitude.
Although no toxicity studies via application to the ear are available, oral repeated dose toxicity studies with
docusate sodium did not identify any clinically relevant information.

The dropper applicator must be filled before dripping WAXSOL Ear Drops into the affected ear.
