Water for Injection is a special type of water that has been carefully purified
and sterilised so it does not contain any other ingredients, microorganisms
or pyrogens. Sterilised Water for Injection is called a diluent because its
main use is for diluting and preparing medicines before use.
Water for Injection is used to dissolve and dilute other drugs that require
mixing with water before they can be given as an injection or an infusion
(a drip) into your veins, muscles or other tissues in the body.
Follow all directions given to you by your doctor carefully. You must talk to
a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.
The contents of the container should be examined before use to ensure
that the liquid is clear, is not discolored in any way and does not contain
any particles. Ensure the container is undamaged.
Do not use Water for Injection:
– as an injection or infusion on its own.
Water for Injection must not be injected or infused on its own. It must only
be used to dissolve or dilute necessary drugs to be administered by your
doctor or nurse.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or nurse before using Water for Injection.
– Water for Injection should not be administered alone because it may
cause damage to red blood cells (haemolysis).
Other medicines and Water for Injection
Please tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take
any medicines in addition to the medicine that is going to be dissolved or
diluted with Water for Injection.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant, or are
planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking the
medicine that is going to be dissolved or diluted with Water for Injection.

Ask your doctor for advice before taking the medicine that is going to be
dissolved or diluted with Water for Injection.
In the preparation of the medicine for use, the required volume of Water
for Injection will vary, depending on the medicine to which it is added.
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or nurse has told you.
Check with your doctor or nurse if you are not sure.
Your doctor or nurse will use the correct amount of Water for Injection to
dissolve or dilute the medicine that you are receiving as an injection, or as
an infusion (a drip) into your veins.
Your doctor will decide the dose of your medicine that you should receive
and how long you will need to take it for. The dose will depend on the
other medicine which is being dissolved or diluted with Water for Injection.
If you use more Water for Injection than you should
It is most unlikely that you will be given too much medicine by the doctor
or nurse. Your doctor and nurse will be monitoring your progress and
checking the medicine that you are given. The signs and symptoms of
overdose will be related to those of the medicine which is being dissolved
or diluted with Water for Injection. However, if you feel unwell afterwards
or have any discomfort, tell your doctor or nurse.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not
everybody gets them.
If given on its own, intravenous injection of Water for Injection may cause
damage to red blood cells (haemolysis).
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store below
25°C. Do not use Water for Injection if the container is damaged or
leaking, or if the contents are discolored or contain particles.
Do not use Water for Injection after the expiry date given on the carton
and label.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the month (if not mentioned by date).
Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use.

ماء الحقن ھو نوع خاص من الماء الذي تم تنقیتھ بعنایة وتعقیمھ لذلك لا تحتوي على
أي مكونات أخرى أو كائنات مجھریة أو أجسام حُمّیة. یسمي ماء الحقن مخفِّف لأن
استخدامھ الرئیسي ھو لإذابة وإعداد الأدویة قبل الاستخدام.
ماء الحقن یستخدم لإذابة وتخفیف الأدویة الأخرى التي تتطلب الخلط مع الماء قبل أن یمكن
إعطاؤھا كحقنة أو ضخ (بالتنقیط) في الورید أو العضلات أو أیاً من أنسجة الجسم الأخرى.
اتبع جمیع التوجیھات المعطاة من قبل الطبیب بعنایة، یجب علیك التحدث إلى الطبیب
إذا كنت لا تشعربتحسن أو إذا كنت تشعر بالسوء.
یجب فحص محتویات العبوة قبل الاستخدام للتأكد من أن السائل صافٍ، غیر متغیر
اللون ولا یحتوي على أي جزیئات. والتأكد من أن العبوة غیر مثقوبة أو تالفة.
لا تستخدم ماء الحقن:
– كحقنة أو ضخ مباشرة في الدم كما ھي.
یجب ألا یتم حقن ماء الحقن أو ضخھ في الدم كما ھو. فھو معد فقط لإذابة أو تخفیف
الأدویة اللازم إعطاؤھا من قبل الطبیب أو الممرضة.
تحذیرات واحتیاطات
تحدث إلى الطبیب أو الممرض(ة) قبل استخدام ماء الحقن.
– ماء الحقن لا ینبغي أن یُعطى كما ھو حیث أنھ قد یسبب تلف في خلایا الدم الحمراء
(انحلال دموي).
الأدویة أخرى و ماء الحقن
من فضلك أخبر طبیبك إذا كنت تأخذ حالیاً أو اتخذت مؤخراً أو قد تأخذ أي أدویة
بالإضافة إلى الدواء الذي سیتم حلھ أو تخفیفھ بماء الحقن.
الحمل والرضاعة الطبیعیة والخصوبة
إذا كنتِ حاملاً أو مرضعةً أو تعتقدین أنك قد تكونین حاملاً ، أو تخططین لأن یكون
لدیك طفل ، أسالي طبیبك للحصول على المشورة قبل أخذ الدواء الذي سیتم حلھ أو
تخفیفھ بماء الحقن.
القیادة واستخدام الأجھزة
إسال طبیبك للحصول على المشورة قبل تناول الدواء الذي سیتم حلھ أو تخفیفھ مع ماء الحقن.
في إعداد الدواء للاستخدام یختلف الحجم المطلوب من ماء الحقن ویعتمد ذلك على
الدواء الذي یتم إضافتھ أو إحلالھ، دائما اتبع تعلیمات الطبیب أو الممرض(ة)، استشر
الطبیب أو الممرض(ة) إذا كنت غیر متاكد.
سیقوم الطبیب أو الممرض(ة) بتحدید الكمیة الصحیحة من ماء الحقن لإذابة أو تخفیف
الدواء الذي كنت تتلقاه كحقنھ ، أو كضخ (بالتنقیط) في الورید.
سیقرر طبیبك جرعة الدواء التي یجب أن تتلقاھا والمدة المطلوبة للعلاج والتي تعتمد
على الأدویة الأخرى التي یتم حلھا أو تخفیفھا بماء الحقن.
إذا كنت تستخدم ماء الحقن أكثر مما یجب
من غیر المرجح أن یتم إعطاؤك الكثیر من الأدویة من قبل الطبیب أو الممرض(ة).
سیقوم الطبیب والممرض(ة) بمتابعة تطور حالتك والتحقق من الدواء المعطى لك،
حیث تكون علامات وأعراض الجرعة الزائدة مرتبطة بتلك التي من الدواء الذي یتم
حلھ أو تخفیفھ بماء الحقن. ومع ذلك ، إذا كنت تشعر بتوعك أو لدیك أي انزعاج ، أخبر
الطبیب أو الممرض(ة).
مثل جمیع الأدویة ، یمكن أن یسبب ھذا الدواء آثاراً جانبیةً ، على الرغم من أنھا
لاتحصل للجمیع.
إذا أعطي ماء الحقن كما ھو قد یسبب ضرراً إلى خلایا الدم الحمراء (انحلال دموي).
حافظ على ھذا الدواء بعیدا عن متناول الأطفال.

لا تستخدم ماء الحقن بعد تاریخ انتھاء الصلاحیة المكتوب على العبوة.
تاریخ انتھاء الصلاحیة یشیر إلى الیوم الأخیر من الشھر (إذا لم یتم تحدید الیوم).
لا تتخلص من أي أدویة عن طریق المیاه العادمة أو النفایات المنزلیة. أسال الصیدلي
الخاص بك عن كیفیة التخلص من الأدویة الغیر مستخدمة. ستساعد ھذه التدابیر على
حمایة البیئة.
على ماذا یحتوي ماء الحقن
ماء الحقن یحتوي على المیاه النقیة والمعقمة للغایة.
شكل ومحتوى عبوة ماء الحقن
ماء الحقن ھو محلول شفاف وصافٍ، عدیم اللون، معقم خال من الجسیمات یستخدم
لإعداد الأدویة للحقن، لا یحتوي على مواد أخرى أو العوامل المضادة للمیكروبات.
ھذا المنتج یأتي في الأشكال الصیدلانیة التالیة:
عبوات زجاجیة ٥۰ مل و ۱۰۰ مل و ٥۰۰ مل.
عبوات بلاستیكیة: ٥۰۰ مل و ۱۰۰۰ مل.

For the reconstitution, dilution and making-up of appropriate drugs where Sterilised
Water for Injections is the diluent of choice, and for use as an irrigant .
Method of administration:
Route of administration: As appropriate to the reconstituted drug .
Dosage: The dosage administered will be dictated by the nature of the additive used. The administration rate will be dependent upon the dose regimen of the prescribed drug .
Following suitable admixture of prescribed additives, the dosage is usually dependent upon age, weight and clinical condition of the patient as well as laboratory determinations .
Administration
The solution is for dilution and delivery of the therapeutic additives. The directions for use related to the added medicinal product will dictate the appropriate volumes as well as the administration route .
Water for Injections is hypotonic and should not be administered alone .
Do not use for intravenous injection unless adjusted to approximate isotonicity with a suitable solute .
When Water for Injections is used as a diluent for hypertonic solutions, appropriate dilution should be applied to bring the solution close to isotonicity .
Haemolysis may occur following infusion of large volumes of hypotonic solutions using sterile Water for Injections as a diluent
When administering large volumes, the ionic balance should be regularly monitored .
The large volume presentations (500 ml and 1000 ml) are for use as a bulk source of diluent in pharmacy compounding. They are not for direct intravenous administration.
The possible clinical interactions between the different medicinal products to be dissolved should be considered.
The risks during use in pregnancy and in lactating women are determined by the nature of the added medicinal products .

Reactions which may occur because of the solution or the technique of administration include febrile response, infection at the site of injection, venous thrombosis or phlebitis extending from the site of injection, extravasation and hypervolemia.
The physician should also be alert to the possibility of adverse reactions to drug additives.
Prescribing information for drug additives to be administered in this manner should be consulted.
Symptoms may result from an excess or deficit of one or more of the ions present in the solution; therefore, frequent monitoring of electrolyte levels is essential.
Intravenous injections of Water for Injections may cause haemolysis if Water for Injections is administered alone .
The nature of the additive will determine the likelihood of any other undesirable effects .
Haemolysis may occur following infusion of large volumes of hypotonic solutions using sterile water for injections as diluent .
The signs and symptoms of overdose will also be related to the nature of the medicinal product being added. In the event of accidental overdose, the treatment should be discontinued and the patient should be observed for the appropriate signs and symptoms related to the medicinal product administered .
Emergency measures
In the event of a fluid or solute overload during parenteral therapy, revaluate the patient's condition and initiate appropriate corrective treatment.

Many injectable drugs cannot be mixed together with water for injections, as some drugs cannot be safely diluted. Incompatibility can involve in precipitation, ionic reactions, evolution of gas and denaturation of biological molecules.
Knowledge of added drug compatibility is needed before mixing drugs.
If drugs mixed together, the mixture should be inspected for precipitations, turbidity or change in colour, however not all incompatibilities are visible.
