1. Fusizone-f Ointment contains sodium fusidate. It is a type of antibiotic. Fusizone-f Ointment works by killing germs (bacteria) that cause infections.
Fusizone-f Ointment is used to treat conditions where the skin is infected by germs (bacteria), such as:
· Impetigo (a weeping, crusty and swollen patch of skin).
· Infected dermatitis (inflammation of the skin) and spots.
· Infected cuts and grazes.
1. Do not use Fusizone-f ointment
If you are allergic to fusidic acid or sodium fusidate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before using Fusizone-f ointment.
· Take special care if you are going to use this medicine near your eyes or the eyes of a child.
· If you use the ointment over a long time or in large amounts it may make the chance of getting any side effects higher. Also, your skin may get more sensitive to this medicine.
Do not smoke or go near naked flames – risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing clothing and bedding may reduce product build-up but not totally remove it.
Other medicines and Fusizone-f ointment
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
· If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while using this medicine.
· You must not use your medicine for a long time or in large amounts.
Driving and using machines
Usually your medicine will have very little effect on your ability to drive or use machines. Check with your doctor if you feel any side effect that may stop you from driving or using machines.
Fusizone-f ointment contains
· Lanolin (wool fat). This may give you an itchy rash and inflammation on your skin where your medicine is used.
· Cetyl alcohol. This may give you an itchy rash and inflammation on your skin where your medicine is used.
· Butylhydroxytoluene This may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis), or irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes (such as lips or genital area).
Please ask your doctor if you are worried about any of the ingredients in this medicine.
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
How to put on Fusizone-f ointment
This medicine is only for use on your skin or the skin of a child. Do not swallow it. Do not put it inside your body.
Remove th cap. Check the seal is not broken before you first use the ointment. Then push the spike in the cap through the seal on the tube.
Always wash your hands before using Fusizone-f Ointment. Rub the medicine gently on the skin. If you use it on your face be careful to avoid your eyes.
Unless you are using the ointment to treat your hands, always wash your hands after using Fusizone-f Ointment.
If you accidentally get any medicine in your eye, wash it out with cold water straight away. Then bathe your eye with eyewash if possible. Your eye may sting. If you start to have any problems with your sight or your eye is sore, contact your doctor immediately.
How much Fusizone-f ointment to use
Your doctor will tell you how much Fusizone-f ointment to use.
Usually, you should use this medicine three or four times each day.
If you have been told to cover the skin with any dressings or bandages you may not need to use the medicine so often. A nappy on a baby may act as a dressing. Follow the advice of your doctor.
If you use more Fusizone-f ointment than you should
If you accidentally apply too much ointment or a small quantity of the ointment is accidentally swallowed, it is unlikely to cause any harm. If a larger quantity of the ointment is accidentally swallowed or you are worried, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
If you forget to use Fusizone-f ointment
If you forget to use this medicine, use it as soon as you remember. Then next use this medicine at the usual time.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Important side effects to look out for:
Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people)
You must get urgent medical help if you have any of the following symptoms. You may be having an allergic reaction:
· You have difficulty breathing
· Your face or throat swell
· Your skin develops a severe rash.
Other possible side effects:
Uncommon side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people)
· Irritation at site of application (including pain, burning, irritation, stinging and skin redness)
· Itching
· Rash
· Eczema.
Rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people)
· Conjunctivitis
· Hives
· Skin swelling
· Blistering of the skin.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.

· Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
· Do not store above 30° C
· Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label and the box after the word “EXP”. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
· Do not use after 6 months from the first opening of the tube
· Do not throw away medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
1. What Fusizone-f ointment contains
· The active substance is Sodium Fusidate. Each 1 gram of Fusizone-f ointment contains 20 mg of Sodium Fusidate.
· The other ingredients are cetyl alcohol, lanolin (wool fat), liquid paraffin, all-rac-α-tocopherol, butylhydroxytoluene and white soft paraffin.

· القوباء (صديد، تقشر وانتفاخ في الجلد).
· التهاب الجلد المصاب (التهاب الجلد) والبقع.
· الجروح المصابة والخدوش.
لا تستخدم فيوسيزون-ف مرهم
إذا كنت تعاني من حساسية لحمض الفيوسيديك أو فيوسيدات الصوديوم أو أي من المكونات الأخرى لهذا الدواء (المذكورة في القسم 6).
المحاذير والإحتياطات
تحدث إلى طبيبك أو الصيدلي أو الممرضة قبل استخدام مرهم فيوسيزون- ف.
• توخ الحذر الشديد إذا كنت ستستخدم هذا الدواء بالقرب من عينيك أو عيون الطفل.
• إذا كنت تستخدم المرهم لفترة طويلة أو بكميات كبيرة، فقد تزيد فرصة حدوث أي آثار جانبية. كما قد تصبح بشرتك أكثر حساسية لهذا الدواء.
• لا تدخن أو تقترب من اللهب المكشوف لتجنب خطورة التعرض لحروق شديدة. يحترق النسيج (الملابس، الفراش، الضمادات، إلخ) الذي لامس هذا المنتج بسهولة أكبر ويشكل خطر حريق خطير. قد يقلل غسل الملابس وأغطية الأسرة من تراكم المنتج ولكن لا يزيله تمامًا.
مرهم فيوسيزون- ف والأدوية أخرى
أخبر طبيبك أو الصيدلي إذا كنت تتناول أي أدوية أخرى.
الحمل والرضاعة الطبيعية
• إذا كنتِ ﺣﺎﻣﻼً أو مرضع، أو تظنين أنكِ حاملاً أو تخططين لإنجاب طفل، اﺳﺄلي ﻃﺒﻴﺒﻚ أو اﻟﺼﻴﺪﻟﻲ للحصول على المشورة ﻗﺒﻞ اﺳﺘﺨﺪام هذا اﻟﺪواء. أخبري طبيبك في حال أصبحتِ حاملاً أثناء استخدام هذا الدواء.
• يجب ألا تستخدمي هذا الدواء لفترات طويلة أو بكميات كبيرة.
القيادة واستخدام الآلات
عادةً ما يكون للدواء تأثير ضئيل للغاية على قدرتك على القيادة أو استخدام الآلات. استشر طبيبك إذا كنت تشعر بأي آثار جانبية قد تمنعك من القيادة أو استخدام الآلات.
فيوسيزون-ف مرهم يحتوي على
• اللانولين (دهن الصوف). قد يسبب طفح جلدي وحكة على جلدك حيث يتم استخدام الدواء.
• الكحول السيتيلي. قد يسبب طفح جلدي وحكة على جلدك حيث يتم استخدام الدواء.
• بوتيل هيدروكسي تولوين قد يسبب حدوث تفاعلات جلدية موضعية (مثل التهاب الجلد التماسي) ، أو تهيج العينين والأغشية المخاطية (مثل الشفاه أو منطقة الأعضاء التناسلية).
يرجى استشارة طبيبك إذا كنت قلقًا بشأن أي من المكونات الموجودة في هذا الدواء.
استخدم دائماً هذا الدواء تماماً كما هو مذكور في هذه النشرة أو كما أخبرك الطبيب أو الصيدلي. راجع طبيبك أو الصيدلي إذا لم تكن متأكداً.
كيفية وضع فيوسيزون-ف مرهم
هذا الدواء مخصص فقط للاستخدام على جلدك أو جلد الطفل. لا تبتلعه. لا تضعه داخل جسمك.
قم بفك الغطاء البلاستيكي. تأكد أن الغطاء المعدني غير مثقوب قبل استخدامك للمرهم لأول مرة. بعد ذلك قم بدفع النتوء البارز الموجود بالغطاء البلاستيكي عبر الغطاء المعدني لفتح الأنبوبة.
اغسل يديك دائمًا قبل استخدام مرهم فيوسيزون- ف.افرك الدواء بلطف على الجلد. إذا كنت ستستخدمه على وجهك، فاحرص على تجنب منطقة العينين.
إذا لم تستخدم المرهم لعلاج يديك، اغسل يديك دائمًا بعد استخدام فيوسيزون-ف مرهم.
في حال ملامسة هذا الدواء للعين بالخطأ يجب غسلها بالماء البارد على الفور. ثم اغسل عينك بغسول العين إن أمكن. في حال واجهتك أي مشاكل في الرؤية أو كانت عينيك تؤلمك فاتصل بطبيبك على الفور.
كمية استعمال مرهم فيوسيزون- ف
سيخبرك طبيبك بمقدار مرهم فيوسيزون-ف مرهم الذي يجب استخدامه
يستخدم هذا الدواء في العادة، ثلاث أو أربع مرات يوميا.
إذا طُلب منك تغطية الجلد بأي ملابس أو ضمادات قد لا تحتاج إلى استخدام الدواء بكثرة. قد يكون الحفاض على الطفل بمثابة الملابس. اتبع نصيحة طبيبك.
إذا كنت تستخدم مرهم فيوسيزون- ف أكثر مما ينبغي
إذا استعملت كمية أكبر من الموصى بها أو ابتلعت كمية قليلة من المرهم، فمن غير المرجح أن يسبب أي ضرر.
إذا ابتلعت كمية كبيرة من المرهم عن طريق الخطأ، أو كنت قلقًا، اتصل بطبيبك أو الصيدلي للحصول على المشورة.
إذا نسيت استخدام مرهم فيوسيزون- ف
إذا نسيت استخدام هذا الدواء، استعمله بمجرد أن تتذكر. بعد ذلك استخدم هذا الدواء في الوقت المعتاد.
إذا كان لديك أي أسئلة حول أخرى حول إستخدام هذا المنتج فاسأل طبيبك أو الصيدلي.
كما هو الحال مع جميع الأدوية، يمكن أن يسبّب هذا الدواء بعض الآثار الجانبية، مع العلم أنها لا تصيب الجميع.
الآثار الجانبية الهامة والتي يجب الانتباه إليها:
نادرة (قد تؤثر على أقل من شخص واحد من بين 1000 شخص)
يجب الحصول على مساعدة طبية عاجلة إذا كان لديك أي من الأعراض التالية. قد يكون لديك رد فعل تحسسي:
· صعوبة في التنفس.
· انتفاح في الوجه أو الحلق.
· طفح جلدي حاد.
الآثار الجانبية المحتملة الأخرى:
آثار جانبية غير شائعة (قد تؤثر على أقل من شخص واحد من بين 100 شخص)
· تهيج في مكان الدهان (يشمل شعوراً بالألم والحرقان والوخز واحمرار الجلد)
· الحكة
· طفح جلدي
· الأكزيما.
آثار جانبية نادرة (قد تؤثر على أقل من شخص واحد من بين 1000 شخص)
• التهاب الملتحمة
• الشرى (الأرتيكاريا)
• تورم الجلد
• تقرحات الجلد.

يحفظ بعيدًا عن رؤية ومتناول الأطفال.
لا تستعمل هذا الدواء بعد انتهاء مدّة الصلاحية المدوّنة على العلبة والأنبوب بعد كلمة (EXP). يشير تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية إلى اليوم الأخير من نفس الشهر.
يُحفظ في درجة حرارة لا تزيد عن ٣۰ درجة مئوية.
يستخدم خلال 6 أشهر من فتح الأنبوب للمرة الأولي
يجب عدم التخلّص من الأدوية عن طريق مياه الصرف الصحي أو النفايات المنزلية. اسأل الصيدلي عن كيفية التخلّص من الأدوية التي لم تعد بحاجة إليها. فهذه التدابير تساعد في حماية البيئة.
يحتوي مرهم فيوسيزون-ف على
· المادة الفعالة هي فيوسيدات الصوديوم، كل جرام من مرهم فيوسيزون-ف يحتوي على 20 مجم من فيوسيدات الصوديوم
· المكونات الأخرى هي الكحول السيتيلي، لانولين، برافين سائل، ألفا توكوفيرول، بوتيل هيدروكسي تولوين وبرافين ابيض ناعم

كيف يبدو فيوسيزون- ف مرهم وما هي محتويات العبوة
فيوسيزون- ف هو مرهم أبيض يميل إلى الأصفر.
يتوفر مرهم فيوسيزون-ف في عبوة بحجم 15 جرام.
يتوفر مرهم فيوسيزون-ف في أنبوب من الألومنيوم سعة 15 جم داخل علبة كرتونية مع نشرة معلومات للمريض.

Fusizone-f 20mg/g ointment is indicated either alone or in combination with systemic therapy, in the treatment of primary and secondary skin infections caused by sensitive strains of Staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus spp and Corynebacterium minutissimum. Primary skin infections that may be expected to respond to treatment with fusidic acid applied topically include: impetigo contagiosa, superficial folliculitis, sycosis barbae, paronychia and erythrasma; also such secondary skin infections as infected eczematoid dermatitis, infected contact dermatitis and infected cuts /abrasions.
Posology
Adults and Paediatric Population
Uncovered lesions - apply gently, three or four times daily. Covered lesions - less frequent applications may be adequate.
Method of administration
Cutaneous use.
Bacterial resistance among staphylococcus aureus has been reported to occur with the use of topical Fusizone-f. As with all antibiotics, extended or recurrent use may increase the risk of developing antibiotic resistance.
Extended or recurrent use may increase the risk of developing contact sensitisation.
Fusizone-f ointment contains cetyl alcohol and hydrous lanolin. These excipients may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis). Fucidin ointment contains butylhydroxytoluene (E321) which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis) or irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes.
When Fusizone-f ointment is used on the face; care should be taken to avoid the eyes as the excipients in the ointment may cause conjunctival irritation.
Instruct patients not to smoke or go near naked flames – risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc)that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing clothing and beddingmay reduce product build-up but not totally remove it.
No interaction studies have been performed. Interactions with systemically administered medicinal products are considered minimal as the systemic absorption of topical Fusizone-f is negligible.
Pregnancy
No effects during pregnancy are anticipated, since systemic exposure to topically-applied fusidic acid/sodium fusidate is negligible. Topical Fusizone-f can be used during pregnancy.
Breast-feeding
No effects on the breast-fed new-born/infant are anticipated since the systemic exposure of topically- applied fusidic acid/sodium fusidate to the breast-feeding woman is negligible. Topical Fusizone-f can be used during breast-feeding but it is recommended to avoid applying topical Fusizone-f on the breast.
Fertility
There are no clinical studies with topical Fusizone-f regarding fertility. No effects in women of childbearing potential are anticipated, since systemic exposure following topically-applied fusidic acid/sodium fusidate is negligible.
Fusizone-f administered topically has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive or to use machines.
The estimation of the frequency of undesirable effects is based on a pooled analysis of data from clinical trials and from spontaneous reporting.
Based on pooled data from clinical studies including 4724 patients who received Fusizone-f ointment, the frequency of undesirable effects is 2.3%.
The most frequently reported adverse reactions during treatment are various skin reactions such as pruritus and rash, followed by various application site conditions such as pain and irritation, which all occurred in less than 1% of patients.
Hypersensitivity and angioedema have been reported.
Undesirable effects are listed by MedDRA System Organ Class (SOC) and the individual undesirable effects are listed, starting with the most frequently reported. Within each frequency grouping, adverse reactions are presented in order of decreasing seriousness.

Overdose is unlikely to occur.
Unless hypersensitivity to Fusidic acid or any of the excipients exists, accidental ingestion of Fusizone- f ointment is unlikely to cause any harm. The total quantity of fusidic acid (30 g Fusizone-f ointment contains 576 mg fusidic acid) will usually not exceed the approved total daily oral dose of fusidic acid containing products except in children aged less than 1 year and weighing ≤ 10 kg. Although in this instance a child of this particular age group is unlikely to ingest a whole tube of Fusizone-f ointment. The concentration of the excipients is too low to constitute a safety risk.

Fusidic acid is a potent topical antibacterial agent. Fusidic acid and its salts show fat and water solubility and strong surface activity and exhibit unusual ability to penetrate intact skin. Concentrations of 0.03 - 0.12 microgram/ml inhibit nearly all strains of Staphylococcus aureus. Topical application of fusidic acid is also effective against streptococci, corynebacteria, neisseria and certain clostridia.
In vitro studies show that fusidic acid can penetrate intact human skin. The degree of penetration depends on factors such as the duration of exposure to fusidic acid and the condition of the skin. Fusidic acid is excreted mainly in the bile with little excreted in the urine.
There are no pre-clinical data of relevance to the prescriber which are additional to that already included in other sections of the SPC.
