Eralyce 1% Cream is used as a treatment to get rid of head lice and their eggs. It contains the ingredient permethrin which belongs to a group of medicines called pyrethroids which kill insects such as head lice.
Eralyce 1% Cream is for use in adults and children over 6 months of age.
Do not use this medicine if
You are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients of Eralyce 1% Cream (see section 6) or to other pyrethroids.
Take special care with Eralyce 1% Cream
If you are a healthcare worker who regularly uses Eralyce 1% Cream on patients, you should consider wearing gloves to avoid possible irritation to your hands.
If you have asthma – Eralyce 1% Cream may be used normally, however talk to your doctor or pharmacist before commencing treatment if you have any particular concerns.
If the child is less than six months old the treatment should only be carried out having been given medical advice.
If you colour or perm your hair because the effect of this product on hair colourants and perms has not been studied, but there have been some extremely rare complaints about its affect on permed or coloured hair. It is therefore a good idea to apply Eralyce 1% Cream to a small section of hair before treating the entire head.
If a child is doing their own treatment with Eralyce 1% Cream, it should be under adult supervision.
There is no reason to change your normal hair washing routines following treatment.
Taking other medicines
Eralyce 1% Cream is not known to interact with any medicines.
Pregnancy and breast feeding
As with all medicines, if you are pregnant or breast feeding, consult your doctor before using Eralyce 1% Cream.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Eralyce 1% Cream
Eralyce 1% Cream contains methylparaben (E218) and propyl paraben (E216) which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Also contains propylene glycol which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).
The active ingredient of Eralyce 1% Cream (permethrin) is not affected by chlorine in swimming pools, so normal swimming activities may continue after use.
Like other products used for the treatment of head lice, resistance can occur.
Check for head lice one week after treatment, if living lice are found, the treatment should be repeated. If after 14 days it is clear that the infestation is still active, it is recommended to use another product with a different active.
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Not to be swallowed. For external use only.
It is best to avoid Eralyce 1% Cream coming into contact with the eyes. Rinse with plenty of cold water immediately should this happen.
1. Shampoo the hair with a mild shampoo. Do not use combined shampoo-conditioner or a medicated shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry so that the hair remains damp.
2. Apply sufficient Eralyce 1% Cream to saturate the hair, roots and scalp. Work methodically through the hair and remember to pay particular attention to the areas behind the ears and around the nape of the neck.
3. Leave Eralyce 1% Cream on the hair for 10 minutes. An application for longer than 10 minutes will not give better results, but a full 10 minutes is required.
4. Rinse thoroughly with water. After the final rinse and while the hair is still wet, use a fine-toothed comb to remove the lice and eggs. Comb the hair in sections from the roots and work over the whole head in this way. Normal hair drying routines can then be followed.
If necessary, a second application can be done 7 days after the first application. If after 14 days the infestation is active, it is best to switch to another active product.
If one member of the family needs treatment, it is important to check the rest of the family for head lice, but only those infested should be treated.
If you use too much
If you accidentally apply too much Eralyce 1% Cream, rinse thoroughly with water.
If the contents of the tube are swallowed, get medical advice from your doctor or the Accident and Emergency Department immediately.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Occasionally skin irritation, redness or rash may occur. However, side-effects are not common and when they occur they are usually mild and cannot always be distinguished from the head lice infestation itself.
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Store below 30°C.
Store in a dry place.
Once opened, use within one month.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the strip and carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask the pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
What Eralyce 1% Cream contains
· The active substance is: Permethrin 1% w/w.
· The other ingredients are: Glycerin, light liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, white soft paraffin, cetostearyl alcohol, macrogol cetostearyl ether, methylparaben, propyl paraben and purified water.

يستخدم إيرالايس 1% كريم في معالجة والتخلص من قمل الرأس وبيوضها. يحتوي على المكون بيرميثرين الذي ينتمي إلى مجموعة دوائية تدعى مركبات البيريثرويد التي تقتل حشرات مثل قمل الرأس.
يستخدم إيرالايس 1% كريم للبالغين والأطفال بعمر أكبر من 6 أشهر.
لا تستعمل هذا الدواء إذا
إذا كنت حساساً (مفرط الحساسية) لأي من مكونات إيرالايس 1% كريم (انظر القسم 6) أو لأي من مركبات البيريثرويد الأخرى.
أول عناية خاصة مع إيرالايس 1% كريم
إذا كنت عاملاً في مجال الرعاية الصحية وتقوم بتطبيق إيرالايس 1% كريم للمرضى بصورة منتظمة، فيجب أن تفكر في ارتداء القفازات لتجنب التهيج المحتمل ليديك.
إذا كنت تعاني من الربو – يمكن استخدام إيرالايس 1% كريم بشكل طبيعي، وعلى أية حال، قم بالتحدث إلى طبيبك أو الصيدلي قبل بدء المعالجة إذا كانت لديك أية مخاوف خاصة.
إذا كان الطفل بعمر أقل من 6 أشهر فإن المعالجة يجب أن تتم فقط بعد الحصول على المشورة الطبية.
إذا كنت تقومين بصبغ شعرك أو تجعيده فإن تأثير هذا المنتج على الشعر المصبوغ أو على التجاعيد لم تتم دراسته، إلا أن هناك بعض الشكاوى النادرة جداً من تأثيره على الشعر الذي تم تجعيده أو صبغه. ولذلك فمن الجيد أن تقومي بتطبيق إيرالايس 1% كريم على قسم صغير من الشعر قبل معالجة كامل الرأس.
إذا كان الأطفال يقومون بتطبيق المعالجة بإيرالايس 1% كريم بأنفسهم فإن ذلك يجب أن يكون تحت إشراف البالغين.
لا يوجد سبب لتغيير إجراءات غسل الشعر الاعتيادية بعد المعالجة.
تناول أدوية أخرى
من غير المعروف عن إيرالايس 1% كريم تآثره مع أية أدوية.
الحمل والإرضاع
مثل جميع الأدوية، إذا كنت حاملاً أو مرضعة، فاستشيري طبيبك قبل استعمال إيرالايس 1% كريم.
معلومات مهمة حول بعض مكونات إيرالايس 1% كريم
يحتوي إيرالايس 1% كريم على ميثيل بارابين (E218) وبروبيل بارابين (E216) الذين يمكن أن يسببا تفاعلات تحسسية (من المحتمل أن تتأخر). ويحتوي أيضاً على بروبيلين غليكول الذي يمكن أن يسبب رد فعل جلدي موضعي (مثل التهاب الجلد التماسي).
لا يتأثر المكون الفعال لإيرالايس 1% كريم (بيرميثرين) بالكلور الموجود في أحواض السباحة، ولذلك يمكن الاستمرار بنشاطات السباحة الاعتيادية بعد الاستخدام.
قد تحدث مقاومة تجاه المنتج كما هو الحال مع المنتجات الأخرى المستخدمة لمعالجة قمل الرأس.
قم بتفحص قمل الرأس بعد أسبوع واحد من المعالجة، فإذا وجد قمل حي يجب أن تعاد المعالجة. إذا تبين أن العدوى بالطفيلي ما زالت نشطة بعد 14 يوماً فيوصى باستخدام منتج آخر بمكون فعال مختلف.
استخدم هذا الدواء دائماً كما أخبرك طبيبك أو الصيدلي. يجب أن تراجع طبيبك أو الصيدلي إذا لم تكن متأكداً.
يجب عدم ابتلاعه. للاستخدام الخارجي فقط.
من الأفضل تجنب تماس إيرالايس 1% كريم مع العينين. اغسلهما بفائض من الماء البارد على الفور إذا حدث هذا.
1. قم بغسل الشعر بشامبو معتدل. لا تستخدم منتجات شامبو - منعم الشعر أو الشامبو الطبي. اغسل جيداً وجفف بمنشفة بحيث يبقى الشعر رطباً.
2. قم بتطبيق كمية كافية من إيرالايس 1% كريم لإشباع الشعر والجذور والفروة. قم بالعمل بشكل منهجي خلال الشعر وتذكر أن تولي الانتباه بشكل خاص للمناطق خلف الأذنين وحول مؤخرة العنق.
3. اترك إيرالايس 1% كريم على الشعر لمدة 10 دقائق. إن التطبيق لمدة أطول من 10 دقائق لن يقدم نتائج أفضل، ولكن مدة 10 دقائق كاملة مطلوبة.
4. اغسل جيداً بالماء. بعد الغسيل النهائي وحينما يزال الشعر رطباً، استخدم مشطاً ناعم الأسنان لإزالة القمل والبيوض. قم بتمشيط الشعر في قطاعات من الجذور إلى واعمل بهذه الطريقة على كامل الرأس. يمكن بعد ذلك اتباع إجراءات تجفيف الشعر الطبيعية.
إذا دعت الحاجة، يمكن القيام بالتطبيق مرة ثانية بعد 7 أيام من التطبيق الأول. إذا كانت العدوى بالطفيلي نشطة بعد 14 يوماً، فمن الأفضل التغيير إلى مادة فعالة أخرى.
إذا احتاج فرد واحد من العائلة إلى المعالجة، فمن المهم تفحص وجود قمل الرأس عند بقية أفراد العائلة، ولكن تجب معالجة المصابين بالعدوى فقط.
إذا استعملت إيرالايس 1% كريم أكثر مما ينبغي
إذا تم بشكل عرضي تطبيق كمية من الكريم أكثر مما ينبغي، فتغسل جيداً بالماء.
إذا تم ابتلاع محتويات الأنبوب من قبل طفل فاحصل على المشورة الطبية من الطبيب أو من قسم الحوادث والطوارئ في أقرب مستشفى على الفور.
مثل جميع الأدوية، يمكن لهذا الدواء أن يسبب أعراضاً جانبية إلا أنها قد لا تحدث لدى كل الأشخاص.
يحدث أحياناً تهيج الجلد وقد يحدث احمرار أو طفح. على أية حال، إن الأعراض الجانبية غير شائعة وعندما تحدث فإنها تكون عادة خفيفة ولا يمكن دائماً تمييزها عن عدوى طفيلي قمل الرأس نفسها.
إذا أصبت بأية أعراض جانبية فتحدث إلى طبيبك أو الصيدلي. هذا يشمل أيضاً أية أعراض جانبية محتملة غير مدرجة في هذه النشرة.
يحفظ بعيداً عن متناول ومرأى الأطفال.
يخزن عند حرارة أقل من 30°م.
يخزن في مكان جاف.
يستخدم خلال شهر بعد فتح العبوة.
لا تستخدم هذا الدواء بعد تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية الموضح على الأنبوب والعبوة الخارجية. يشير تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية إلى آخر يوم من ذلك الشهر.
لا تقم بالتخلص من الأدوية من خلال مياه الصرف الصحي أو النفايات المنزلية. اسأل الصيدلي عن كيفية التخلص من الأدوية التي لم تعد تحتاجها. ستساعد هذه التدابير على حماية البيئة.
ماذا يحتوي إيرالايس 1% كريم
· المادة الفعالة هي: بيرميثرين 1% و/و.
· المكونات الأخرى هي: غليسيرين، برافين سائل خفيف، بروبيلين غليكول، برافين لين أبيض، كحول سيتوستياريلي، أثير ماكروغول سيتوستياريل، ميثيل بارابين، بروبيل بارابين، ماء منقى.
إيرالايس 1% كريم هو كريم أبيض متجانس متوفر بأنابيب بلاستيكية تحتوي على 30 غ من الكريم.
أحجام العبوات:

Eralyce 1% Cream is indicated for the treatment of infections with the head louse pediculus humanus capitis.
Adults and children 6 months and over:
Topical.
Eralyce 1% Cream should be used after the hair has been washed with a mild proprietary shampoo and towelled dried. Enough Eralyce 1% Cream should be applied to saturate the hair and scalp. Particular attention should be given to the areas behind the ears and at the nape of the neck.
Eralyce 1% Cream should be left on the hair for ten minutes before rinsing the hair thoroughly with water. The hair should then be dried in the usual way.
It is not necessary to remove dead eggs or nits except for cosmetic purposes. A fine-toothed comb may be used if desired.
Children under 6 months:
Eralyce 1% Cream is not suitable for application to children under six months of age, except on the advice of a physician.
The elderly:
Normal adult dosage is appropriate.
If Eralyce 1% Cream accidentally introduced into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Eralyce 1% Cream contains methylparaben and propylparaben which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
Eralyce 1% Cream contains propylene glycol which may cause skin irritation.
Nursing staff who routinely use Eralyce 1% Cream may wish to wear gloves to avoid any possible irritation to the hands.
The effect of this product on artificial hair colorants and perms has not formally been studied. Although complaints are extremely rare, it is good practice to apply to a small section of hair first, before treating the entire scalp.
Children under 6 months of age should be treated on the advice of a doctor.

Eralyce 1% Cream may be used as normal in asthmatics, however contact your doctor or pharmacist before commencing treatment if you have any particular concerns.
Permethrin is not affected by chlorine in swimming baths, so normal swimming activities may continue after use.
As for other products used for the treatment of head lice, resistance can occur. After one week the result of the treatment should be checked. If living lice are still found, the treatment can be repeated with the same product. If, after 14 days, it is certain that the infestation is still active, it is best to switch to another active product.

Reproduction studies have been performed in mice, rats and rabbits (200 – 400 mg/kg/day orally) and have revealed no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the foetus due to permethrin. There are however, only very limited data on the use of permethrin in pregnant women.
Because animal studies are not always predictive of the human response. Treatment should be considered during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
Studies following oral administration of permethrin in cattle have indicated that very low concentrations of permethrin are excreted in milk. However, it is not known whether permethrin is excreted in human milk. Whilst it is unlikely that the concentrations of permethrin in the milk will present any risk to the infant, consideration should be given to withholding treatment during nursing or temporarily discontinuing nursing.
No special comment - unlikely to have an effect.
Eralyce 1% Cream is generally well-tolerated with a low potential for inducing skin reactions. In a few individuals erythema, rash and/or irritation of the scalp have been reported following the application of the medicine, but as an infestation with head lice is often associated with scalp irritation, it is difficult in most instances to determine the underlying cause.
If severe or prolonged signs and symptoms of scalp irritation, skin discomfort, or other undesirable effects occur in association with the use of Eralyce 1% Cream it should be brought to the attention of a doctor or a pharmacist.

There are no reports of overdosage with Eralyce 1% Cream. On the basis of animal and human-volunteer studies, it is extremely unlikely, even with misuse or excessive application, that the amount of permethrin required to produce clinically-relevant toxic effects would be reached. The most likely symptoms and signs following repeated, excessive application would be hypersensitivity-type reactions.
Symptomatic treatment is indicated should hypersensitivity-type reactions occur.
In the event of accidental ingestion of the contents of a tube by a child a doctor should be consulted immediately. Gastric lavage should be considered within two hours of ingestion.
5.1 Pharmacodynamic properties

The active ingredient, permethrin, belongs to a group of medicines called pyrethroids which are anti-parasitic agents. Permethrin is rapidly absorbed across the insect cuticle. The principal physiological action is the induction of electrochemical abnormalities across the membranes of excitable cells, leading to sensory hyperexcitability, incoordination and prostration. When presented in aqueous base, the ovicidal activity of permethrin is increased by the addition of an alcohol.
Permethrin is rapidly metabolised by ester hydrolysis to inactive metabolites which are excreted primarily in the urine. The application of permethrin to the hair of the volunteers for the recommended application time resulted in extremely low or undetectable level of permethrin metabolites in plasma and urine samples. In vitro studies have shown that permethrin levels on hair were not affected by chlorine in concentrations used in swimming pools.
The active ingredient of Eralyce 1% Cream is a well-known constituent of medicinal products and its safety is well documented. The results of pre-clinical studies do not add anything of relevance for therapeutic purposes.
