Pharmacotherapeutic group:

Disflatyl Contains a medicine called Simethicone (activated dimethylpolysiloxane).
This surface-active substance simethicone is a nontoxic
anti-foaming agent on a silicone basis. In a purely physical
process, it causes the gas bubbles occurring with flatulence and
meteorism to break up by modifying their surface tension. The thus
released gas can then be absorbed and/or passed via natural ways.
Therapeutic indications:
This is used in the symptomatic treatment of all types of excessive
gas accumulation or formation in the gastrointestinal tract such as
flatulence, meteorism, aerophagia, gastrocardiac symptom complex,
postoperative meteorism. And to prepare for endoscopic, radiological
or sonographic investigations of the gastro-intestinal area.

Do not take Disflatyl® if:

• You have hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Talk to your
pharmacist for more details.
Take special care with Disflatyl®
No special precautionary measures are necessary.
Taking other medicines
No interactions have been reported up to now. If you are taking
this product under your doctor’s direction, your doctor or pharmacist
may already be aware of possible drug interactions and may
be monitoring you for them. Do not start, stop, or change the
dosage of any medicine before checking with your doctor or
pharmacist first

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Controlled studies have not been carried out either on animals or
on humans. Since the active ingredient is not absorbed there are
not expected to be any risks for the foetus, nor is it expected to
enter breast milk.
Effects on Ability to Drive and Use Machines
No relevant studies have been carried out. Since simethicone is an
inert substance which is not absorbed there are no expected
effects
on the ability to drive or use machines.

Always take Disflatyl® exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has
told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you
are not sure.
Symptomatic treatment
Adults: Take 1 to 2 tablets, chewed and/or sucked, after
every meal and before retiring to bed
School children: 1 tablet, chewed and/or sucked, after every meal
and before retiring to bed.
Preparation for investigation of the gastrointestinal area
Chew or suck 2 tablets 3-4 x daily on the two days prior to the
investigation, 2 tablets on an empty stomach on the morning of the
investigation, and 2 tablets immediately before the investigation.
Disflatyl is not suitable for children under the age of 6 years.
For children under the age of 6 years, please use Disflatyl® drops.
If you take more Disflatyl® than you should
If you take too many tablets by mistake, contact your doctor
immediately
or seek medical help as soon as possible.
If you forget to take Disflatyl®
• If you forget to take a tablet, skip the missed dose.
• Take the next dose as usual.
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

When taken as directed, Disflatyl® usually has no side effects.
Since the simethicone in Disflatyl® tablets is not absorbed in the
gastrointestinal tract and is excreted unchanged, no unwanted
effects
are experienced. However, tell your doctor if you experience
any unpleasant effects while taking this medication.

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
• Store below 25 °C.
• Do not use after the date identified by “EXP” on the container.
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
• Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household
waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer
required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
